Trump’s Border Czar got one offer from Texas that Democrats are going to hate
The plan to secure the border is starting to come together under Donald Trump.
It’s going to take cooperation to make it happen.
And Trump’s “Border Czar” got one offer from Texas that Democrats are going to hate.
Texas could bus illegal aliens directly to ICE to be deported
Texas Governor Greg Abbott made national headlines when he began busing illegal aliens in his state to sanctuary cities around the country.
He brought the border crisis to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C., New York, and Chicago.
Sanctuary cities having to suffer the consequences of the record illegal immigration under President Joe Biden helped change the public perception of the issue.
President-elect Donald Trump picked former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan to serve as the new “Border Czar.”
Homan is going to oversee the incoming Trump administration’s effort to carry out the largest mass deportation operation in American history.
Texas is mulling over one plan to make his job that much easier.
Instead of busing illegal aliens to sanctuary cities under Operation Lone Star – Texas’ state-led border security mission – they would be bused directly to ICE to be deported.
“We are always going to be involved in border security so long as we’re a border state,” a Texas government source told The New York Post. “We spent a lot of taxpayer money to have the level of deterrent that we have on the border, and we can’t just walk away.”
Texas would use buses that were once bound for Chicago and New York City to send the illegal aliens to ICE detention facilities in the state.
“That’s a way we could be involved in that, and of course, they would reimburse us for paying for the [bus] contract,” the Texas government source added.
Trump’s “Border Czar” travels to Texas
Homan visited Texas where he met with Governor Abbott and toured the southern border in the city of Eagle Pass.
The new “Border Czar” admitted he hadn’t talked about the idea of Texas busing illegal aliens to ICE detention facilities during his trip to the state.
“I look forward to discussing that with them,” Homan said.
“We’re going to help them finish this job and secure Texas and we’re going to work in partnership,” Homan continued. “And [Abbott] doesn’t have to worry about this administration suing him … to secure the Texas border.”
The Biden-Harris administration has filed dozens of lawsuits against Texas to prevent the state from securing its border while Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris told the public they cared about border security.
Texas has already offered more than 1,000 acres of ranch land near the Mexican border for use by the Trump administration to build detention centers to house illegal aliens waiting to be deported.
“My office has identified several of our properties and is standing by ready to make this happen on Day One of the Trump presidency,” Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham said.
Texas is going to be a key partner in the Trump administration’s plan for the mass deportation of illegal aliens.
