Harry and Meghan’s neighbors are upset over the antics 

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the United Kingdom behind in 2020 to seek their fame and fortune in Southern California. 

The royal couple moved to the wealthy enclave of Montecito in Santa Barbara County. 

Montecito is an exclusive oceanfront town of about 8,500, where residents value their privacy. 

The residents of the town are mostly wealthy Californians who want to avoid the fast-paced lifestyle of Los Angeles. 

Harry and Meghan have brought the paparazzi flocking to the town and put it in the spotlight. 

To Di For Daily podcast host Kinsey Schofield told Fox News that Montecito residents are furious at the circus that the Duke and Dutchess of Sussex brought with them to the sleepy town. 

“Montecito residents tell me that their disdain is primarily focused on Meghan because she gives off ‘new money energy,’” Schofield stated. “They don’t believe that Harry and Meghan are financially literate.”

Schofield said the couple’s neighbors told her Harry and Meghan’s various attempts to jumpstart careers “come off as desperation.”

Meghan’s Netflix reality show With Love, Meghan debuts in March after its January release date was pushed back because of the Los Angeles wildfires. 

She’s launching her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, featuring upscale dog treats and jams later this year. 

“Neighbors have a hard time processing why someone would turn their back on tiaras in pursuit of Tupperware,” Schofield said. “Selling pots and pans with an American Riviera Orchard logo on it just does not compete with state visits with world leaders.”

Vanity Fair interviewed some of Harry and Meghan’s neighbors in Montecito who called them “local villains.”

Locals are upset that they’ve caused the area to be flooded with “out-of-towners.” 

British broadcaster Helena Chard claimed that neighbors told her that Montecito has been turned upside down by the attention Harry and Meghan have brought to it. 

“According to several Montecito residents, Harry and Meghan bring negative, unwanted drama to their beautiful area,” Chard explained. “This noise is seeping into their once-quiet neighborly area.” 

The town lost its status as a hidden gem on the California coast. 

“Montecito, once a hidden jewel, is now on a pedestal due to the Meghan and Harry celebrity association,” Chard continued. “The unwelcomed attention has also highlighted other high-profile Hollywood Montecito residents and draws crowds of voyeurs to the area. They fill the restaurants, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood stars.”

One neighbor vented to Vanity Fair about the royal couple. 

“I still think they’re the most entitled, disingenuous people on the planet,” the neighbor said. “They moved away from England to get away from the scrutiny of the press, and all they do is try and get in the press in the United States.”

Harry and Meghan continue to alienate everyone they come into contact with.
