One of the Midterm Bloodbath’s Biggest Instigators Just Spit in Americans’ Faces for What It Cost Them

A new golden age stood on the horizon in the first few months of Trump’s second term.

One shift in focus sent everything awry and Americans got hammered because of it.

Tuesday they hammered back and now one of the main movers behind the nightmare just penned an insulting newsletter blaming you for what it has cost.

How Shapiro Grabbed Charlie Kirk's Microphone and Used It to Silence the Base

Charlie Kirk built Turning Point USA into a direct line between the conservative base and the Trump White House, and an assassin's bullet ended his life on September 10, 2025.

Shapiro and Kirk had clashed for years, including over Kirk's skepticism of dragging America into another Middle East war.

Within hours of Kirk's death, Shapiro vowed to pick up the blood-stained microphone and keep speaking in Kirk's name.

Shapiro and Fox News host Mark Levin then used that platform to push the administration into the Iran war and demand it reverse course on promise after promise, from the Epstein files to the border.

Instead of a good faith debate on the merits, anyone who objected got labeled an antisemite.

Shapiro and Levin branded war skeptics “panicans,” “the Woke Reich”, and told Americans standing at the gas pump and the grocery register that their complaints about a ten dollar burrito were proof they couldn't handle foreign policy.

And if you even mentioned what government’s interest the war was actually in, you got labeled an antisemite, and told free speech didn’t apply when it came to that criticism.

A Fox News poll found thirty-four percent of voters called the war crucial to their vote and forty percent called it a major factor, numbers Shapiro and Levin skipped past on their way to the next monologue.

Of course, that poll, in addition to being a Fox News Poll, almost certainly didn’t account for the disgruntled voters from Trump’s 2024 coalition who decided not to show up.

The Mencken Quote Shapiro Used to Blame Everyday Americans for the Crash

Shapiro's targets are the same voters who elected Trump, trusted his instincts, and lived through nine months of a war Shapiro cheered as the single bravest foreign policy move of his life.

Shapiro is entitled to his views but it's a weird definition of bravery – do a thing you told everyone you wouldn’t do because a man who once said “The existence of the State of Israel is the single greatest guarantor of my loyalty to the United States,” wanted you to.

Those readers just watched Election Day wipe out Senate seats in Maine, Texas, and Michigan after Shapiro told them for months their complaints were the real problem.

Troy Jackson unseated five-term Republican Susan Collins in Maine, James Talarico flipped a Texas Senate seat, and Abdul El-Sayed won in Michigan, a sweep Shapiro later called a total and utter blowout.

Trump posted on Truth Social that the market had just suffered one of the worst days in history based on the results of the election.

Then came Shapiro's newsletter on November 6, admitting Election Day had been nothing short of a wipeout for Republicans, which echoed his monologue from Wednesday.

He conceded he agrees with most of Trump's policies but disagrees with how nearly all of them got carried out, pinning the defeat on execution rather than substance.

Then he explained exactly who should pay for that execution.

Shapiro told readers point blank that people like them "deserve to get it good and hard," a line he borrowed from a long-dead newspaper columnist named H.L. Mencken.

He followed it by telling readers to go look at their retirement accounts.

The man who told you that complaining about your grocery bill made you a “panican” just told you that you deserved the hit to your 401(k) that also followed.

Why Shapiro Never Belonged in the Conservative Movement to Begin With

Shapiro opposed Trump through most of the 2016 primary, and people who should know better let that go.

What they should not let go is a man who muscled his way onto Charlie Kirk's stage, demanded a war the base never asked for, mocked anyone who felt the pain at the grocery store, and then told them straight to their faces that they had it coming.

Mark Levin is no better.

Levin waved off complaints all through the campaign, insisting Americans barely felt the war at all, then turned around and went after the same Republicans who tried to warn him once the votes came in.

Even Republicans in Congress are now saying the Iran war cost the party seats it cannot win back.

Shapiro and Levin never ran for anything, and neither man answers to a single voter.

For a solid year they told the people who do exactly that to shut up and eat the cost.

Now, even in his tacit admission of what the biggest policy blunder in a generation wrought, Shapiro still blames the bloodbath on everyone but himself.

And that’s incredible for someone who was among the very loudest voices pushing for it.
