Joe and Mika meet with Trump
Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski spent the last seven years attacking Donald Trump on their show.
The pair smeared Trump as a fascist with Scarborough going so far as likening Trump to Adolf Hitler.
Donald Trump’s win served as a shock to the system.
A little over two weeks after Trump’s victory, Joe and Mike traveled to Mar-a-Lago for a secret meeting with Trump.
In announcing the meeting, Joe and Mika claimed the purpose of the sit down was to bury the hatchet and try and start fresh in covering the administration.
Megyn Kelly didn’t buy it for a second.
Kelly explained that her experience in cable news is that the network associated with the losing candidate suffers a decline in ratings.
Fox News Channel’s ratings tanked following Mitt Romney’s loss in 2012.
MSNBC viewership plunged 54 percent in the wake of Kamala Harris losing the election.
Kelly said Joe and Mika groveled before Trump in the hopes of trying win over middle of the road and conservative viewers that they alienated with their seven years of nonstop Trump hate.
This was not a strategy that worked, Kelly predicted and that the real reason Joe and Mika made peace with Trump is they “want access to power.”
“They’re not going to get the same returns by being fair and balanced about Trump, even though they desperately want access to power, I believe this is why they went there. For two reasons. They desperately want access to power,” Kelly stated.
Kelly believes Joe and Mika are frauds
Kelly said that no matter who is in office, Joe and Mika crave the ability to tell viewers their show is watched by the most influential people in Washington, and that they can get an audience with the decision makers.
“That’s why they licked Joe Biden’s boots, then quickly licked Kamala. Now they’re licking Trumps because they can’t stand a world in which they’re as irrelevant as they are. Don’t believe me, look at their ratings and the voters who ignored their claims of Hitler,” Kelly added.
But Kelly predicted this era of good feelings wouldn’t last.
Kelly said the leftist social circles Joe and Mika run in as well as MSNBC courting a leftwing audience would exert gravitational pull on how Joe and Mika cover Trump.
“So that’s one of the reasons why they did it. But once they start chugging again, their court viewership is very left. That’s who watches that show. That’s why you’ve seen Joe Scarborough migrate out of the Republican Party…” Kelly continued.
“And the machine will do what it does, which is force them to continue to go to the left. This thing veers to the left. All media veers to the left, especially MSNBC. All their cocktail parties, all their friends, will veer them back to the left, they will get absolutely no points for saying anything nice or fair about Trump, and they will do what they’ve been doing for nine years, which is back on the bashing train,” Kelly concluded.
