Megyn Kelly called out Karoline Leavitt for this risky decision

Megyn Kelly is usually a defender of President Trump.
However, in this case, Kelly saw something that made her uneasy.
And Megyn Kelly called out Karoline Leavitt for this risky decision.
Press Secretary Leavitt announced that the left-wing White House Correspondents Association would no longer pick the media outlets that comprised the pool that would cover the President.
“Moving forward, the White House press pool will be determined by the White House press team. Legacy outlets who have participated in the press pool for decades will still be allowed to join, fear not, but we will also be offering the privilege to well-deserving outlets who have never been allowed to share in this awesome responsibility,” Leavitt stated.
Leavitt explained that the White House press team would pick the poolers and that they would open it up to outlets that the leftist White House Correspondents Association usually ignored.
“Just like we added a new media seat in this briefing room, legacy media outlets who have been here for years will still participate in the pool, but new voices are going to be welcomed in as well. As part of these changes, we will continue the rotation amongst the five major television networks to ensure the president’s remarks are heard far and wide around this world,” Leavitt concluded.
Megyn Kelly is a major critic of the pro-Democrat Party’s biased coverage of President Trump.
But Kelly told guest Buck Sexton of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show that she couldn’t get behind this move.
Kelly explained that the only reason the American people had video of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan was because of the press pool.
And Kelly added that news outlets are responsible for picking up the cost of traveling with the President and covering him so Kelly wondered if some of these newer media outlets could actually afford to participate in the pool.
Kelly also feared the precedent this set as the press as an independent entity is established in the Constitution.
“Well let me ask you this, Buck. The other thing about this that makes me somewhat uncomfortable. And I’m all for pushing back on a left-wing bias, I don’t have to prove that to anybody. But I do think the independence of the press is important,” Kelly began.
Even while admitting the press was hopelessly biased, Kelly expressed unease with the idea of the White House picking who covers it.
“I realize the press has lost its mind, but it’s written right into the Bill of Rights that yeah, a free press is one of our most fundamental values, and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with the White House saying, ‘This is who will cover me. This is who I will allow to cover me at all.’ It’s one thing to say to the AP, ‘F you, you don’t-, you’ve lost your right to be in these intimate spaces.,” Kelly added.
Kelly claimed her worry was that the next time the Democrats win power, the White House will only allow MSNBC and other leftist outlets to ask questions.
“But there is a difference in saying, ‘We will decide, not you members of the press who gets to come into every space and ask questions of the president.’ I mean, we could be in a Democratic administration next, where they’re like ‘Nobody other than MSNBC and, you know, the AP can have access and ask questions,” Kelly concluded.
But the White House only allowing leftist outlets to question the President is already what happened under Joe Biden.
Fox News’ Peter Doocy was never selected for a question in the staged press conferences Biden would hold where reporters submitted their inquiries in advance so Biden’s team could prepare answers.
Karine Jean-Pierre refused to call on the New York Post during press briefings for a month.
Megyn Kelly’s nightmare scenario took place.
Karoline Leavitt is just pushing back against the aggressive left-wing bias of the press.
