Media Lost Its Mind Over the Four Words Gary Player Said to a Female Reporter at the Masters

These people tried to cancel Clint Eastwood for talking to a chair.

Now they've found a new target – a 90-year-old golf legend who told a reporter she was good-looking.

Gary Player, three-time Masters champion and one of the greatest golfers who ever lived, just became their newest villain.

Gary Player Called Sky Sports Reporter Anna Jackson a Good Looking Chick at the Masters Par 3

It was Wednesday's Par 3 Contest at Augusta National. Sky Sports reporter Anna Jackson was setting up her interview with Player – the man who has hit the ceremonial first tee shot at the Masters every year since 2012.

Before she could get out her first question, Player turned to the camera crew and said: "No wonder you're smiling working with this good-looking chick, eh."

Jackson moved straight into the interview without missing a beat. "Okay, well, Mr. Player, what an introduction that is," she replied, and kept going.

That was it.

The internet, however, was not fine.

Social media lit up with the predictable mob. "He is an old creep," one user posted. "Sky gotta stop interviewing Gary Player," demanded another. A third went full pearl-clutch: "The worrying thing is, many people will think that type of behavior is absolutely fine."

Yes. Millions of us do. Because it is.

The Gary Player They Refused to Cover

Gary Player turns 91 this year.

He was born in South Africa in 1935. He won his first Masters green jacket in 1961 – before most of his critics were alive. He has competed in The Masters a record 52 times. He still works out every single day, including push-ups on his private jet. He plays golf four times a week and claims to have beaten his age over 3,000 times.

And hours after the Sky Sports interview, he pulled a female fan out of the gallery at the Par 3 Contest, put his arm around her, signed her hat, and gave her a kiss.

"If you give love, you get love," Player told Golf Channel afterward.

The outrage mob didn't mention that part.

Cancel Culture Comes for a 90-Year-Old Golf Legend

Here is what actually happened: a 90-year-old man from a different generation said something warm and slightly old-fashioned to a woman who didn't ask for an apology, didn't need anyone's protection, and moved on with her job in about four seconds.

The woke mob wrote the story they wanted instead of the one that happened.

Find the oldest, most harmless version of behavior they've decided to ban. Declare it an emergency. Demand accountability from someone who has given more to the world than his critics ever will.

Gary Player has raised millions for underprivileged children through his philanthropy work. He has dedicated decades of his life to growing the game of golf globally. He has represented South Africa and the sport he loves on the world's biggest stages for over 60 years.

The man called a reporter good-looking.

The same mob that tells us words are violence spent the day calling a 90-year-old man an "old creep."

Augusta Didn't Blink

Here is what the outrage mob could not cancel: Thursday morning, Gary Player stood on the first tee at Augusta National – alongside Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, 11 green jackets between them – and hit the ceremonial first shot of the 90th Masters Tournament.

He did his signature leg kick after the drive. The crowd cheered.

The 91-man field then teed off, and the greatest major in golf got underway.

The woke mob screamed into their phones. Augusta National opened its tournament. Gary Player played his role with the dignity of a champion.

Some things the internet cannot touch – and Gary Player is one of them.
