Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is the Chairwoman of the DOGE Subcommittee.
This subcommittee’s job is to help DOGE identify waste, fraud and abuse in the federal budget for elimination.
The $535 million taxpayer subsidy for left-wing outlets PBS and NPR was a great place for the subcommittee to get to work.
Greene previewed the hearing in an appearance on Newsmax where she outlined how outrageous it was for taxpayers to fund two outlets that pumped out a steady stream of woke propaganda and relentless attacks on conservatives.
“I’m looking forward to holding the hearing tomorrow at 10 a.m. where we will be shining an intense spotlight on how Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars have been used by PBS and NPR, and the type of public broadcasting programs and radio shows they have been pushing across the country for decades,” Greene told host Chris Salcedo.
Taxpayers are now funding NPR and PBS so these channels can run psyops to brainwash children into transgenderism.
“It has leaned further and further left, so much so that they now have Drag Queen Story Time instead of good old Sesame Street. They are now part of training children, brainwashing children about gender, which proved to be one of the most important issues in the 2024 presidential election. That was a big loser for Democrats,” Greene added.
Greene said she had no issue with PBS and NPR existing as stations with their particular point of view.
The Georgia Congresswoman said that’s protected under the First Amendment.
But what Greene had a problem with was taxpayers subsidizing NPR and PBS’ left-wing political activism disguised as journalism.
“We’re a big believer in the private business industry, so we support these radio stations and these TV channels to be able to carry on with business as usual. We also support the First Amendment. We support their right to be able to, you know, publish their message, put their broadcasting and their programs out, but we don’t think the American people should be taxed to pay for it,” Greene continued.
The hearing proved to be every bit as explosive as Greene promised.
Greene called out NPR CEO Katherine Maher for her past tweets calling President Trump a “deranged racist sociopath” as well as her comments calling the First Amendment a “challenge.”
The CEO of NPR labeled President Trump a “deranged racist sociopath,” alienating the 77 MILLION people who voted for him.
Ms. Maher seems more concerned with deplatforming individuals she views as fascist than she does with upholding the First Amendment.

Maher later faced grilling over her previous statements supporting reparations for slavery, the idea white people were inherently racist and the Black lives Matter looters.
The hearing went so badly for NPR and PBS that President Trump subsequently insisted Congressional Republicans defund the two left-wing outlets.
“NPR and PBS, two horrible and completely biased platforms (Networks!), should be DEFUNDED by Congress, IMMEDIATELY. Republicans, don’t miss this opportunity to rid our Country of this giant SCAM, both being arms of the Radical Left Democrat Party. JUST SAY NO AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.
