Karoline Leavitt had to give Democrats some bad news.

She exposed one of the biggest myths in Washington, D.C.

And Karoline Leavitt spoke one blunt truth that left Democrats seething with rage.

Karoline Leavitt defends closing down the Department of Education

President Donald Trump delivered on a long-held Republican goal by beginning to shut down the Department of Education.

Democrats and their media allies panicked at the department being dismantled and more control over education being returned to the states.

They turned to extreme fearmongering that students wouldn’t learn, and that education would be sent back into the dark ages without bureaucracy in Washington, D.C.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked to respond to the scare tactics by Democrats during an appearance on Fox News.

“President Trump is not failing America’s children, he is saving America’s children with this action that he will take later today directing Linda McMahon, our great Secretary of Education, to dismantle this federal bureaucracy that has taken more than $3 trillion from the American taxpayers since its inception in 1979,” Leavitt explained.

The Department of Education presided over declining test scores despite its more than $250 billion budget.

“And what have we had as a result of that investment in our children’s education?” Leavitt asked. “Declining test scores in reading, writing, and math. Proficiency levels at record lows for eighth graders, for fourth graders, at every level in every state across this country.”

The Department of Education never educated a student

National test scores still haven’t returned to where they were before the pandemic, according to the Nation’s Report Card.

Students are still suffering from learning loss after teachers’ unions and Democrats kept schools closed and forced them into virtual learning.

Leavitt said that education would be best handled at the local level.

“That’s why this President is returning education back to the people, to those closest to our students and our classrooms and that is teachers and educators and parents who know what is best for their children, and we are excited about this event that will be here later in the afternoon at the White House,” Leavitt explained.

“We will have parents and educators and students and also governors from across the country who are excited to embrace this new responsibility of educating our nation’s children,” Leavitt added.

Leavitt pointed out that the Department of Education wasn’t in the business of teaching students.

“I will add one more point,” Leavitt said. “The Department of Education has never educated a child. All it has ever done is stolen money from the taxpayers for more regulation that has hurt our children’s education and about time a President does something about it and thank God President Trump is.”

The Trump administration has laid off almost half of the staff at the Department of Education ahead of its eventual closure.

Responsibilities like collecting student loans are being transferred to other government agencies.

Big government education initiatives from Washington, D.C. like No Child Left Behind have been a colossal failure.

Gutting the Department of Education will get the heavy hand of government out of the classroom and return power to local communities.
