And Joy Behar was furious at Chuck Schumer for one reason he never saw coming. 

The View demands that Democrats do something 

President Donald Trump is dictating the action in Washington, D.C.

Congressional Democrats are powerless in the minority while they struggle to come up with a message to fight back. 

Some Democrats are upset that their elected leaders aren’t doing enough to fight the Trump administration. 

The hosts on ABC’s The View were up in arms over perceived inaction by Democrats. 

Co-host Joy Behar demanded that Democrats try to wrestle attention away from Trump in the media. 

She urged them to take a page from Trump’s playbook during his first Presidential campaign when he called into TV shows. 

“Remember when Trump used to call in constantly, he was on this show, Barbara [Walters] interviewed him, and he called in on Morning Joe,” Behar recalled. “That is what they should be doing. Every time, they should be ambushing the airwaves, the Democrats, get off your butts and start doing it.”

Trump was able to call into shows during his first campaign because he was a breath of fresh air and people wanted to hear what he had to say. 

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg argued that Democrats were trying to fight back but no one cared what they had to say because they’re boring. 

“Not to media bash, but, you know, people keep saying, well, why aren’t we hearing from people?” Goldberg said. “It’s not that we’re not hearing from Democrats. They’re out there. Jasmine Crockett is out there, AOC is out there, people are out, Chuck Schumer. We see Chuck Schumer. You’re not getting the coverage because to them, they’re boring.”

Goldberg claimed that it was hard for Democrats to break through in the new media environment. 

“People are doing what they can do,” Goldberg stated. “They have a very slim minority, and they’re doing what they can and they’re as vocal as they can be, but if you’re not getting the information, and you’re not getting it the way you used to get all kinds of information, it’s hard to back through.” 

Behar told Democrats watching to call into The View.

Behar constantly rants about Trump being a bad person and a negative influence on politics. 

She conceded that Democrats needed their own Trump to achieve political relevance. 

“It seems to me that you need a candidate that’s like Trump on the Left. Somebody who speaks the vernacular. He comes out there and might as well say I got a hemorrhoid today, and they like it. Because it’s real,” Behar explained. “They need something like that.”

Behar misdiagnosed Trump’s appeal to voters. 

The President became popular for being a straight shooter who didn’t follow the usual political rules. 

Democrats are flailing with no idea what direction to take at the start of Trump’s Presidency.
