Joy Behar is one of the biggest cheerleaders for Democrats on TV.

She’s still coming to grips with what happened in the election.

And Joy Behar turned as white as a ghost when she heard this damning fact about Democrats.

Former Obama officials admit Democrats didn’t live in reality

Jon Favreau, Tommy Vietor, and Jon Lovett – ex-staffers for former President Barack Obama – started the popular and influential left-wing podcast Pod Save America

The trio admitted that Democrats were in disarray at the start of Donald Trump’s Presidency during an appearance on ABC’s The View

Vietor argued that one reason Democrats were in a bind was because the party refused to be honest about former President Joe Biden’s age.

“I think one thing, though, that harmed the Democrats over the last couple of years was a lack of candor and not being honest with ourselves that there were a lot of voters who felt like Joe Biden was too old to get another four years,” Vietor explained.

Democrats have been engaged in finger-pointing since the election and Biden has emerged as a popular scapegoat for the party’s problems.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) led the scheme with Obama to force Biden out of the race.

She pinned the blame on Biden in November and suggested that former Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t a good candidate.

“Had the President gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race,” Pelosi told the New York Times

Democrats are dealing with deep divisions in the party

Democrats don’t have a natural leader after Biden and Kamala left Washington, D.C.

The View co-hosts noted that Democrats are divided as a party.

Vietor said that the party was divided in part because Democrats refused to accept the reality that Biden was in big trouble in the election.

He admitted that voters “were rejecting his candidacy, and you could see it in polling and you could see it in Primaries.”

Biden faced a backlash from Democrat Primary voters who were upset that he didn’t call for a permanent ceasefire from Israel in the country’s war against Hamas.

“And Democrats said, ‘You know what? It’s fine. Everything will be okay. Trump is bad and therefore that will offset that,’” Vietor said of the prevailing attitude of Democrats about Biden’s candidacy before the debate.

Vietor argued that Democrats need to be honest with voters and try to court the working class.

“We got to get our act together,” Vietor lamented.

Co-host Joy Behar asked if any of them thought that Biden could have won the election if he stayed in the race.

“He would not have won,” Favreau said. “His own polling showed that Donald Trump was going to win 400 Electoral Votes – 400 plus.”

Trump winning more than 400 Electoral Votes would mean that he would have states like New Jersey, Virginia, New Hampshire, Illinois, and more.

Sources told the Washington Post in December that Biden still believes he would have won if he stayed in the race.

Democrats are still trying to figure out how to regroup and move forward after getting shellacked in the 2024 Election.
