John Kennedy took the gloves off with this warning to the deep state

The deep state during Trump’s first term in office tried to investigate, impeach and imprison him.

Now the tables have turned.

And John Kennedy took the gloves off with this warning to the deep state.

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) sent shockwaves through Washington when Trump took DOGE’s recommendation and folded the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) into the State Department to slash its $44 million budget.

Musk’s team looked under the hood and saw USAID was funneling money into left-wing causes such as transgender comic books in foreign countries, as well as censoring conservatives and populists on the internet.

But USAID was just the start.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) told Sean Hannity that DOGE was just getting started and that leftists should just cry more if they were upset about Musk and his team identifying wasteful spending to cut off.

“I would say with respect, you know, call somebody who cares. You better get used to this. It’s USAID today. It’s going to be the Department of Education tomorrow. And really, here’s what’s going on. For four years under President Biden,” Kennedy stated.

Kennedy’s hint that the Department of Education was on the chopping block came on the heels of a Wall Street Journal report revealing that Trump was considering eliminating the Department of Education via executive order.

Jimmy Carter created the Department of Education in 1979 and conservatives spent the last 45 years trying to eliminate the federal takeover of public education in America.

Trump needs an act of Congress to fold the Department.

But Trump can eliminate Department of Education functions that aren’t spelled out by statute.

“The officials have discussed an executive order that would shut down all functions of the agency that aren’t written explicitly into statute or move certain functions to other departments, according to people familiar with the matter. The order would call for developing a legislative proposal to abolish the department, the people said. Trump’s advisers are debating the specifics of the order and the timing, the people said,” the Wall Street Journal reported.

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie introduced legislation to fully eliminate the Department of Education and fully accomplish Trump’s goal.

“Unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C., should not be in charge of our children’s intellectual and moral development,” Massie explained. “States and local communities are best positioned to shape curricula that meet the needs of their students.”

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump why he nominated Linda McMahon to serve as head of the Department of Education.

“Why nominate Linda McMahon to be Education Secretary if you’re going to get rid of the education department?” Doocy wondered.

Trump explained that he picked Linda McMahon because he needed someone who would be so good at the job, they would put themselves out of work.

“I want Linda to put herself out of a job…We spend more per pupil than any other country in the world and we’re ranked at the bottom of the list,” Trump said during an Oval Office press gaggle.
