Chuck Schumer surrendering to President Trump on Trump’s agenda for a government funding fight broke the brains of the Democrat Party base.
The leftist rank and file are on the warpath against Schumer over what they believe is Schumer’s refusal to fight Trump to the bitter end.
A civil war broke out on the Left where left-wing groups are demanding Schumer resign, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is touring the country to rally the base against leadership.
Louisiana Senator John Kennedy just sat back and told Sean Hannity how much he enjoyed the circular firing squad on the Left.
“I don’t hate anybody, and that includes Senator Schumer. He’s very smart. On the other hand, Chuck’s often wrong. He never makes the same mistake twice, he makes it five or six times just to be sure,” Kennedy said during an interview with Hannity on his Fox News program.
Kennedy explained that Schumer had no other option other than to capitulate to President Trump’s sending freeze because all a government shutdown would have accomplished is driving down the Democrats’ record-low approval numbers even further.
“But this time he got it right in supporting our efforts to keep the government open. Unless a football coach taught you history, you understand that shutting government down never achieves anything,” Kennedy continued.
Kennedy said Democrats are already angry at Schumer and he’s about as popular with own base as a sexually-transmitted disease.
“It just scares people, especially the elderly. Having said that, many Democrats are angry at Schumer. Among them right now, we’ve all seen the news, he’s about as popular as chlamydia,” Kennedy went on to say.
But Kennedy said the anger on the Left said more about the Democrat Party as a whole as the rank and file keeps demanding their elected leaders take the 20 percent side in 80/20 fights.
“But that, to me, says as much about the Democratic Party as it does about Senator Schumer. What it tells me is that the loon wing of the Democratic Party is firmly in control. Now, that’s great for the Republican party, but it’s bad for America,” Kennedy added.
Democrats in Congress are choosing to die on the hills of deporting illegal alien terrorists and defending the ability of biological males in women’s sports.
“These people are deeply weird. For example, no honest person whose IQ is above his age doesn’t believe that biological sex doesn’t exist, but they do,” Kennedy remarked.
And the Republicans’ plan for the next election is to just get out of the way and let Democrats continue to define themselves by their fringe.
“That’s what I mean when I say they’re deeply weird. Our Republican secret plan for dealing with the Democrats is called Operation Let Them Speak, and that’s good for our party, but it’s bad for America, and I think Schumer did the right thing,” Kennedy exclaimed.
