Vice President Kamala Harris faced a choice.
Go with popular Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) – whose approval rating is over 60 percent – and take a step towards locking up a crucial state in the Electoral College.
Or yield to the pressure from her Left flank who revolted over the fact that she could put a Jewish person on the ticket.
One of the voices on the Left opposed to Shapiro was U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA).
Fetterman reportedly knifed Shapiro in private to Harris with his team telling her advisors that he was overly ambitious and would put his interests above her.
POLITICO reported that “Fetterman’s advisers suggested to Harris’ team that the senator believes that Shapiro is excessively focused on his own personal ambitions. His reservations about Shapiro reflect a long-running rivalry between the two ambitious Democrats, who have risen on parallel tracks in a politically crucial state.”
The beef between Fetterman and Shapiro owed to when the two served on Pennsylvania’s parole board where Shapiro opposed Fetterman’s schemes to let criminals out of prison willy-nilly.
“Fetterman sought to revitalize the institution and provide second chances to some convicts. Shapiro often took a less lenient position, arguing that he believed in criminal justice reform but that the commutations process was not the place for ‘structural’ changes. Fetterman and Shapiro clashed in particular over the fate of Lee and Dennis Horton, brothers who had been convicted in a fatal shooting and robbery in 1993 but maintained their innocence for decades,” POLITICO also reported.
The cost of appeasing the Left
Harris went with Fetterman and the rest of the Left to pick Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) as her running mate.
Walz praised Black Lives Matter terrorists burning Minneapolis to the ground saying the insurrectionists acted out of “righteous anger.”

Walz also excused the rioting, rampaging, and looting by saying racism was the real culprit.
“I myself can fully understand the rage…this was Minnesotan’s inability to deal with inequality inequities and quite honestly the racism that has persisted,” Walz added.

Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), want to brand Harris and Walz as the most radical Left-wing ticket ever.
Walz appeasing the Black Lives Matter rioters in 2020 will help make that job easier.
