The Democrat Party is desperate to claim a scalp.

One of the party’s most controversial members stepped up to the plate.

And Ilhan Omar planned one attack on Pete Hegseth that crossed this bad line.

Democrats are seeking to make as much hay as possible out of National Security Advisor Michael Waltz accidentally including The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg on a Signal app group chat.

Goldberg falsely claimed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth texted him classified war plans for an attack on Houthi militants in Yemen.

It was no matter that every Trump official denied these allegations and that screenshots Goldberg released confirmed the denials.

“So, let me get this straight. The Atlantic released the so-called “war plans” and those “plans” include: No names. No targets. No locations. No units. No routes. No sources. No methods. And no classified information. Those are some really shitty war plans,” Hegseth wrote on social media.

Hegseth said this was just another media hoax conjured up to try and derail the Trump administration.

“This only proves one thing: Jeff Goldberg has never seen a war plan or an “attack plan” (as he now calls it). Not even close. As I type this, my team and I are traveling the INDOPACOM region, meeting w/ Commanders (the guys who make REAL “war plans”) and talking to troops. We will continue to do our job, while the media does what it does best: peddle hoaxes,” Hegseth added.

The truth wasn’t the main point.

Exacting a pound of political flesh was.

That’s why Ilhan Omar planned on introducing articles of impeachment against Hegseth and other Trump administration officials on the group chat.

“Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) is privately proposing articles of impeachment against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz and CIA Director John Ratcliffe,” Axios exclusively reported.

Omar’s planned articles of impeachment were an escalation from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries calling on President Trump to fire Hegseth.

“Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense in American history,” Jeffries ranted in his letter to President Trump.

Jeffries went on to insult Hegseth as the “so-called Secretary of Defense” before repeating the false claim Hegseth shared war plans with a reporter.

“The so-called Secretary of Defense recklessly and casually disclosed highly sensitive war plans … during an unclassified national security group chat that inexplicably included a reporter,” Jeffries added.

“Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth should be fired immediately,” Jeffries concluded.

Democrats don’t have a leg to stand on with the American people as voters completely repudiated their agenda last November.

Top party leaders gambled that their path to power relies on disqualifying the Trump administration in the eyes of Americans.

That’s why Omar and others zeroed in on this fake scandal in the hopes that the public will buy the lies about Hegseth and vote for Democrats in 2026 as a corrective to the perceived Trump administration chaos that the Left created out of whole cloth.
