Democrats deployed the original Russia collusion hoax in 2016 to first try and defeat former President Donald Trump and then in an attempt to end his Presidency.

Now as the election reaches crunch time, the Democrat Party dipped back into the well for an updated version of the Russia hoax.

But Fox News Special Report host Bret Baier was less than impressed with the Department of Justice indicting RT employees Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva for paying American media company Tenet $10 million dollars to distribute RT’s content across various platforms.

Baier told viewers that in an election where the combined spending figures soar above $2 billion, $10 million is the proverbial drop in the bucket.

“You look at the specifics here, $10 million, by this Russian group. You know, in the big picture, there are plenty of actors, online and social media who are spending much, much more than that to influence a lot of people across social media,” Baier stated.

“And I think this was a public face forward to say we’re not going to put up with countries interfering. But as far as examples, this is not a huge example of some interference that has happened,” Baier added.

The political stunt at work

The post-Democratic National Convention polling showed Vice President Kamala Harris’ numbers softening in the battlegrounds.

And right on cue, the Biden-Harris Department of Justice rolled out criminal charges just as the General Election campaign kicked into full gear, alleging conservative media figures like Benny Johnson were puppets of Russian intelligence.

“The Justice Department has charged two employees of RT, a Russian state-controlled media outlet, in a $10 million scheme to create and distribute content to U.S. audiences with hidden Russian government messaging,” Attorney General Merrick Garland declared.

“The Justice Department will not tolerate attempts by an authoritarian regime to exploit our country’s free exchange of ideas in order to covertly further its own propaganda efforts, and our investigation into this matter remains ongoing,” Garland added.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams for the Southern District of New York claimed RT worked through a third party to pay conservative influencers to unwittingly spread their content.

“As alleged, the Russian state broadcaster RT orchestrated a massive scheme to influence the American public by secretly planting and financing a content creation company on U.S. soil,” Williams stated.

“The instruments of the scheme were RT employees Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva, who managed the operation from Moscow using fake personas and shell companies, and the victims of the scheme were the American people, who received Russian messaging without knowing it. As the charges unsealed today demonstrate, this Office will work with our law enforcement partners to unmask and hold accountable all those who conduct malign influence campaigns in the United States, no matter how hard they try to hide their tracks,” Williams concluded.

The indictment exposed the fact that the Biden-Harris Department of Justice sought to twist any criticism of Kamala into Russian propaganda.

A fact sheet included by the DOJ showed that blaming Kamala for the inflation that took place on her watch was considered Russian misinformation.

In 2016, the FBI and Hillary Clinton campaign whipped up the original Russia collusion hoax.

In 2020, the FBI fabricated a kidnapping plot against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer just before the election to feed the narrative that Trump supporters were violent domestic extremists.

Now for the third straight election, the Department of Justice is launching an operation at the most opportune time for Democrats.
