Elon Musk emerged from the 2024 election as one of the real power players in the Republican Party.

Musk’s support for Donald Trump proved critical.

And Elon Musk made one promise that will make Democrats’ lives a living hell.

Elon Musk says his America PAC will remain active

Elon Musk’s America PAC spent $200 million on voter registration and get out the vote efforts.

The lion’s share of that money came from Musk himself.

Once Trump won, Musk revealed that America PAC won’t go dark, instead it will continue political activities to help Republicans in special elections to replace members who took jobs in the Trump administration as well as the 2026 midterm election.

“Normally, PACs go somewhat dormant after a big election,” Musk wrote on social media. “@America PAC is going to do the opposite and keep grinding, increasing Republican registrations in key districts around the country, in preparation for special elections and the midterms.”

Musk endorsed Trump following the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Musk posted on X, following a gunman shooting Trump in the head.

Musk also played a key role in Trump appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

That interview racked up 45,000,000 views on YouTube and helped Trump reach the low propensity voters who ended up turning out in massive numbers on Election Day.

Voter registration key to Trump’s win

One of the canaries in the coal mine that foretold Trump’s win were the voter registration numbers.

In mid-October, CNN data cruncher Harry Enten pointed to the massive shift of voter registration numbers in Pennsylvania towards the Republicans over the last four years as one of the signs Donald Trump was on track for victory.

“You go back to November 2020, you see Democrats at 47%, and Republicans at 39%. That was an eight-point advantage. Look at where we are today. Yes, more voters in Pennsylvania are still registered as Democrats than Republicans, but it’s now just 44% to 40%,” Enten stated.

“They’ve got a four-point gap. Republicans have cut that Democratic advantage in half in such a short period of time. They’ve gone out, registered voters, and there are folks who have come over to their side who were previously registered Democrats,” Enten added.

Enten also cited the Gallup poll on party identification – which showed Republicans holding an edge for the first time – as putting Republicans in the vicinity of where they needed to be for victory.

“The GOP leads by a point in party identification right now. The average when the Republican Party loses is the Democrats ahead by eight. When the Republican Party wins, the average party ID advantage for Democrats is at three. Republicans right now are doing even better than the average when they win,” Enten continued.

The voter registration and party identification numbers proved prophetic.

The electorate on November 5 was an unheard of four points more Republican than Democrat.

Now Elon Musk hopes to press that advantage further by keeping his PAC active.
