And it was over Elon Musk and DOGE’s recommendation to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) after Musk and his DOGE team discovered that USAID deployed its $44 billion budget to fund leftist opposition parties and internet censorship around the world.
USAID is home to shady spending in foreign countries that USAID refuses to explain.

The message voters sent to Democrats was that the party lost its way by becoming the party of institutional power and forgetting the working men and women of America.
Democrats’ first fight with Donald Trump after the election was going to war in defending the deep state.
Chuck Schumer tried to draw the battle lines by falsely claiming DOGE is a “shadow government” when Presidents of both parties created blue ribbon commissions to study critical national problems and offer solutions.
Schumer also falsely claimed DOGE was canceling spending programs or shutting down entire departments.
“An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government. DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law. DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand. Congress must take action to restore the rule of law,” Schumer wrote on X.
Elon Musk replied to Schumer by mocking his manufactured hysteria.
“Hysterical reactions like this is how you know that @DOGE is doing work that really matters,” Musk began.
Musk explained that Trump’s election was the one chance to break the deep state’s grip on government by expunging unelected bureaucrats that pursued their own agenda no matter who got elected President.
“This is the one shot the American people have to defeat BUREAUcracy, rule of the bureaucrats, and restore DEMOCracy, rule of the people. We’re never going to get another chance like this,” Musk added.
Musk told Americans that supporting DOGE meant supporting returning power back to the people to choose elected representatives who will act in the public’s interests as opposed to those of the swamp.
“It’s now or never. Your support is crucial to the success of the revolution of the people,” Musk concluded.
