Donald Trump wants to hit the ground running after he takes office.

He just got a nasty surprise he wasn’t expecting.

And Donald Trump was raising hell after Senate Democrats committed this awful sabotage.

Senate Democrats create obstacles for Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination

The terrorist attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas on New Year’s Day confirmed the importance of getting President-elect Donald Trump’s national security confirmed as quickly as possible.

His nominee for Director of Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has received heavy pushback from the Washington, D.C. Swamp.

Gabbard wants to end the unconstitutional surveillance of American citizens and carry out Trump’s reform agenda for the intelligence agencies she would oversee as DNI.

That’s why the Swamp wants to derail her nomination.

A confirmation hearing for Gabbard was scheduled for mid-January, but Senate Democrats are trying to drag out the process.

U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), the Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, is trying to delay her hearing over background material for vetting.

Warner claims the committee hasn’t received an ethics disclosure, a questionnaire, and Gabbard’s FBI background check.

Gabbard is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve with a security clearance, which means her background check should be expedited.

She already completed the FBI’s background check process.

Gabbard’s team accused Warner of blocking Democrats on the committee from meeting with her.

His office took more than a month to reply to an email sent from her team in November.

Warner appears to be throwing sand in the gears of the confirmation process for Gabbard.

“I hope to meet [Gabbard],” U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said. “I think we will wait until after the chairman meets with her.”

Tulsi Gabbard’s hopes of a quick confirmation fading

The delay in the FBI getting the background check back could push back her confirmation hearing with the committee unless Democrats agree to move forward without it.

Warner dragging his feet makes that seem unlikely.

Gabbard has already met with U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff (D-GA), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and John Fetterman (D-PA).

“I believe that it’s appropriate and the responsibility of a U.S. Senator to have a conversation with President-elect Trump’s nominees,” Fetterman said.

Gabbard transition spokeswoman Alexa Henning blasted Warner and Senate Democrats for playing games with the confirmation process.

“After the terrorist attacks on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, it’s sad to see Sen. Warner and Democrats playing politics with Americans’ safety and our national security by stonewalling Lt. Col. Gabbard’s nomination, who is willing to meet with every member who will meet with her as this process continues,” Henning stated.

“It is vital the senate confirms President Elect Trump’s national security nominees swiftly, which in the past has been a bipartisan effort, we are working in lockstep with Chairman Cotton and look forward to Lt. Col. Gabbard’s hearing before Inauguration Day,” Henning added.

Gabbard is a reformer who can attempt to fix the broken intelligence community.

Senate Democrats want to keep the status quo going in the Washington, D.C. Swamp.
