Donald Trump is trying to put together a team to drain the swamp and shake up Washington.

That’s the mandate the voters handed Trump on November 5.

And Donald Trump was angry as hell after seeing this resignation announcement.

Controversy over Trump’s pick to run the DEA

Donald Trump nominated Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister to run the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

As soon as Trump announced the pick, conservatives smelled trouble.

“I’m going to call ‘em like I see ‘em. Trump’s nominee for head of DEA should be disqualified for ordering the arrest of a pastor who defied COVID lockdowns,” Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie posted on X after the Chronister nomination announcement.

During the COVID pandemic Chronister arrested Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne for violating lockdown orders issued by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and holding church services.

Chronister claimed that Howard-Browne “intentionally and repeatedly disregarded state and local public health orders, which put his congregation and our community in danger.”

The New York Post reported that “Howard-Browne was charged with violation of public health emergency rules and unlawful assembly — but the charges were later dropped. He languished in jail a day before paying a $500 bond.”

Shortly after this story emerged Chronister announced he was withdrawing his candidacy to run the DEA.

Donald Trump posted a missive on Truth Social slamming the media’s reports that Chronister pulling out of consideration to run the DEA was a “setback” for his transition.

Trump noted that it was he who ordered Chronister to drop his bid to run the DEA after Trump learned that he was a COVID tyrant that arrested pastors.

“The Wall Street Journal is becoming more and more obnoxious and unreadable. Today’s main headline is: “Trump’s DEA Pick Pulls Out In Latest Setback.” With all that’s happening in the World, this is their Number One story of the day. Besides, he didn’t pull out, I pulled him out, because I did not like what he said to my pastors and other supporters,” Trump wrote.

Trump then mocked the idea that he suffered a setback after winning a landslide re-election victory.

“But, more importantly, what’s my “latest” setback??? I just won the Presidency of the United States! They haven’t written a good story about me in YEARS. Somebody over there ought to look at what they’re doing. The only one worse than them is stupid, China-centric Forbes Magazine!” Trump continued.

The New York Post confirmed that Chronister didn’t give up his bid to run the DEA willingly.

“Everyone knows President Trump calls the shots,” a Trumpworld source told The Post. “The president heard the concerns about Sheriff Chronister and acted accordingly.”

“It was the president’s forceful hand that led him to remove his name,” a second Trumpworld source added.

The Trumpworld source said Trump “was very displeased with the revelations about his arrest of the pastor and some of his other actions that he took as a sheriff.”

“Arresting pastors for trying to keep their churches open is a non-negotiable with the president, and that’s what the sheriff was accused of, and the president did not like that,” the Trumpworld source continued.
