Donald Trump just took the lead in these three key swing states
It’s nitty-gritty time in the 2024 Election.
The polls are breaking in one direction.
And Donald Trump just took the lead in these three key swing states.
Emerson polls show battleground states shifting to Donald Trump
To reach 270 Electoral College votes, former President Donald Trump needed to hold the Sun Belt battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.
And win one Rust Belt battleground state from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The latest polls from Emerson College – one of the most accurate pollsters in 2020 and 2022 – showed a break to Trump.
Pennsylvania is the most important state on the map.
Both campaigns bet big on the Keystone State as it’s the literal keystone to both campaigns’ electoral maps.
Trump led Vice President Kamala Harris 49% to 48% in Pennsylvania.
Emerson found the strength of Trump’s support came from voters locked into the idea that America was on the wrong track and needed a change.
“Voters who decided over a month ago favor Trump 51% to 47%, while voters who made up their mind within the past month/week lean toward Harris 52% to 45%,” Emerson polling director Spencer Kimball noted.
If Kamala Harris loses a Rust Belt state she can make up for it with a win in the Sun Belt.
Kamala Harris thought her best chance to win a Sun Belt state was North Carolina
But Emerson had a double-barrel dose of bad news on this front.
Not only did they find that Trump led Kamala 50% to 48% in North Carolina, but Emerson also showed the former President ahead of her in Wisconsin 49% to 48%.
Trump led in North Carolina and Wisconsin thanks to a historic gender gap where Kamala cratered with men.
“There is a clear gender divide, with men favoring Trump more strongly than women for Harris,” Kimball wrote. “In North Carolina, men back Trump by 13 points, while women support Harris by seven points. In Wisconsin, men support Trump by 12, while women favor Harris by nine points.”
Democrats spent the last decade smearing any display of masculinity as “toxic” and telling men they were sexist oppressors perpetuating the patriarchy.
Every initiative the Left launched was designed to encourage women and girls in education and business.
The Left’s chickens are now coming home to roost.
Kamala’s chances of making a comeback in either state look bleak as the top issue by massive margins in both North Carolina and Wisconsin in the economy.
“The top issue for North Carolina voters is the economy at 40%, followed by threats to democracy at 14%, and housing affordability and immigration, at 11% respectively,” Emerson stated.
“The top issue for Wisconsin voters is also the economy at 41%, followed by threats to democracy at 17%, abortion access at 10%, and immigration and housing affordability at 9% respectively,” Emerson wrote of the polls.
And since Kamala Harris caused the inflation crisis that soured Americans on the state of affairs in the country, her ask that voters give her the chance to clean up the mess she made is a tall order.
