Donald Trump is headed to the Supreme Court because of this former ally

President Trump is facing the second stage of lawfare from the Democrat Party.
Now Trump is looking at lawsuits coming from the Right.
And Donald Trump is headed to the Supreme Court because of this former ally.
The Wall Street Journal is the avatar from the Mitt Romney-Liz Cheney version of the Republican Party.
The Journal supports amnesty for illegal aliens and unchecked migration into the United States.
The Journal supports a blank check for an endless war with Russia over Ukraine.
And the Journal is especially opposed to President Trump’s tariffs.
President Trump believes tariffs will rebalance America’s trade deficit and force other countries to agree to deals more favorable to domestic companies.
The President announced he was imposing 25 percent tariffs on all goods from Canada and Mexico, as well as reciprocal tariffs on every country that imposed taxes and import duties on American goods.
All of these tariffs will take effect on April 2.
This enraged the Journal’s RINO editorial board.
In a piece attacking Trump for tariffs, the Journal claimed Trump was acting lawlessly by imposing tariffs even though the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) of 1977 granted him that right in the event Trump declared an emergency.
“Mr. Trump’s executive orders imposing 25% across-the-board tariffs on Canada and Mexico and 10% (now 20%) on China instead invoke the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which gives the President authority to address an “unusual and extraordinary threat” if he declares a national emergency. Mr. Trump deems fentanyl and other drugs such an emergency,” the Journal’s editorial board wrote.
The Journal compared Trump’s tariffs to illegal executive orders issued by Joe Biden imposing a COVID vaccine mandate, an eviction moratorium, and a student loan bailout.
“Mr. Trump’s tariffs recall Mr. Biden’s use of emergency power for his Covid vaccine mandate, eviction moratorium and student loan forgiveness. The Court blocked all three under its major questions doctrine, which Justice Neil Gorsuch called ‘a vital check on expansive and aggressive assertions of executive authority,’” The Journal added.
The Journal wrapped up by demanding someone sue Trump to stop the tariffs like how the Supreme Court stopped Biden’s vaccine mandate, eviction moratorium and student loan bailout.
“Presidents of both parties are now declaring everything to be an emergency to achieve their policy goals without having to deal with a frustrating Congress,” the Journal concluded. “If Mr. Trump succeeds in unilaterally imposing tariffs as he sees fit, a future Democratic President will use ’emergency’ power for climate change and much more. Mr. Trump’s order needs a legal challenge.”
The law gives President Trump the right to impose these tariffs.
If the Journal got its wish and someone sues Trump, the likelihood is that he would win at the Supreme Court just like he won there when he got sued over his declaration of national emergency at the border to unlock military construction funds to build a border wall.
