Donald Trump has been feuding with the media since the day he began running for President.

No candidate in history has ever been subject to more biased, false, and dishonest coverage than Trump.

And Donald Trump had this demand for 60 Minutes that took everyone by surprise.

60 Minutes falsely claims Trump canceled a planned interview

CBS’ 60 Minutes social media account posted that former President Donald Trump backed out of a planned interview to air on October 7.

60 Minutes is scheduled to air a primetime election special on a Monday edition of the broadcast on October 7 at 8 PM. For over half a century, 60 Minutes has invited the Democratic and Republican tickets to appear on our broadcast as Americans head to the polls,” the post began.

CBS said the interview was part of an election year program where the show would air back-to-back interviews with Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“This year, both the Harris and Trump campaigns agreed to sit down with 60 Minutes. Vice President Harris will speak with correspondent Bill Whitaker. After initially accepting 60 Minutes’ request for an interview with Scott Pelley, former President Trump’s campaign has decided not to participate. Pelley will address this Monday evening,” the post continued.

“Our election special will broadcast the Harris interview on Monday as planned. Our original invitation to former President Donald Trump to be interviewed on 60 Minutes stands,” the post concluded.

Trump campaign shoots down misinformation

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to the 60 Minutes post and debunked the story.

Cheung wrote that Trump never agreed to an interview because CBS insisted on doing the type of real-time “fact-checking” of him that ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis performed during the September 10 debate.

“Fake News. 60 Minutes begged for an interview, even after they were caught lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop back in 2020. There were initial discussions, but nothing was ever scheduled or locked in. They also insisted on doing live fact checking, which is unprecedented,” Cheung wrote.

The interview was really set up as an ambush, so the Trump campaign said thanks but no thanks.

Trump also addressed the matter during a press conference in Wisconsin.

He told a reporter he would be happy to do 60 Minutes but first CBS had to apologize to him for how correspondent Lesley Stahl conducted herself during an October 2020 interview.

She falsely claimed the reports of payments from companies in communist China to Hunter Biden were debunked and she dismissed the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story incorrectly claiming the emails on the hard drive weren’t verified.

“They came to me to do an interview but first I want to get an apology. The Laptop From Hell was from Hunter,” Trump explained.
