Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign is picking up momentum.

He’s even receiving celebrity backing.

And Donald Trump got one endorsement that will leave him speechless.

Baseball legend Mariano Rivera endorses Donald Trump for President

In an interview with New York City radio host Sid Rosenberg, former New York Yankees star Mariano Rivera endorsed Donald Trump for President.

Rivera recalled receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump back in 2019.

“Having been given the Freedom of Honor medal from Donald Trump was amazing. I mean it was an amazing moment,” Rivera told Rosenberg, “Receiving that medal was special.”

Rosenberg then pivoted to the 2024 Election saying he was terrified for the country his children would inherit if President Joe Biden won the election, kept the border open, and created crisis after crisis in foreign policy.

“I’m very afraid, Mariano, for New York and this world … I’ve got a 19-year-old daughter, she’s gonna turn 20 on Sunday, and a 15-year-old son and I think we need President Trump to win or it could be very, very ugly. Do you agree with that?” Rosenberg asked.

He agreed and said that Trump was his friend during his storied 19-year career with the New York Yankees.

“I agree with that,” Rivera responded. “President Trump, he’s my friend. I can’t deny that. Before he was the President, he was my friend. Because of that, I’m going to vote for him.”

Media attacked Rivera in the past for his support for Trump

Trump awarded Rivera the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019 after he became the first unanimous Hall of Fame selection in baseball history.

Rivera earned a reputation as the greatest relief pitcher in baseball history due to being the all-time major league leader in saves and his post-season record where he pitched to 0.78 earned run average in 141 playoff innings and saved 42 games while helping the Yankees win five World Series titles.

Daily Beast columnist Robert Silverman attacked Rivera for serving as a stooge for a “racist president” and because Rivera – a devout Christian – supports Israel.

“And over the past three years, he’s also served at the pleasure of a racist president, taken part in thinly veiled propaganda on behalf of a far-right government in Israel, and gotten chummy with outright bigots and apocalyptic loons. None of this will be inscribed on his Hall of Fame plaque. It should, even if much of the sports world would very much like to pretend none of it exists,” Silverman wrote back in 2019.

Rivera addressed this absurd criticism saying Trump was his friend long before he was President and that he supported the job he was doing in office.

“He was a friend of mine before he became President,” Rivera said. “So, because he’s President I will turn my back on him? No. I respect him. I respect what he does and I believe he’s doing the best for the United States of America.”

He also said he supported Israel because of his faith.

“When it comes to Israel, as a Christian, if my Savior Jesus Christ, he’s a Jew, so how am I going to turn my back and say, ‘Oh, I won’t support Israel,'” Rivera added.

The Left thinks all institutions should work in service of their political mission.

That increasingly means sports.

When someone like Rivera speaks out in support of Donald Trump they get smeared as a brushback pitch to warn over athletes who are conservatives to stay quiet.
