President Trump couldn’t believe the news.

The media smelled blood in the water.

And Donald Trump faced one betrayal that left him with this impossible choice.

National Security Advisor Michael Waltz is a favorite of the GOP establishment.

Waltz’s foreign policy views – he supports endless war in Ukraine and war with Iran – align more closely with Mitt Romney or Liz Cheney.

But Waltz had been a loyal Trump supporter and backed the President’s plan for peace in Europe and the Middle East.

Now that’s all in question.

Waltz somehow included The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg – the author of the suckers and losers hoax from the 2020 campaign – on a group chat with Vice President J.D. Vance, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth – as well as numerous others – to debate President Trump’s proposed strike on Houthi pirates that targeted Red Sea shipping lanes for missile attacks.

On March 11, Waltz sent Goldberg an invitation notification.

“On Tuesday, March 11, I received a connection request on Signal from a user identified as Michael Waltz. Signal is an open-source encrypted messaging service popular with journalists and others who seek more privacy than other text-messaging services are capable of delivering. I assumed that the Michael Waltz in question was President Donald Trump’s national security adviser. I did not assume, however, that the request was from the actual Michael Waltz,” Goldberg reported.

Goldberg then claimed – without citing any evidence – that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth texted him war plans for a March 15 missile strike on the Houthi rebels.

“At 11:44 a.m., the account labeled “Pete Hegseth” posted in Signal a “TEAM UPDATE.” I will not quote from this update, or from certain other subsequent texts. The information contained in them, if they had been read by an adversary of the United States, could conceivably have been used to harm American military and intelligence personnel, particularly in the broader Middle East, Central Command’s area of responsibility,” Goldberg wrote.

Goldberg claimed the Trump team – the target of the hit piece was MAGA Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth – endangered American lives by texting war plans to a group chat that Goldberg claimed he was mistakenly invited to on an unsecured platform that an enemy could have intercepted.

“What I will say, in order to illustrate the shocking recklessness of this Signal conversation, is that the Hegseth post contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing,” Goldberg added.

Pete Hegseth called it a lie and hoax that he texted any war plans.

The group chat specifically mentioned using “high side” computers for any classified information, so unless Goldberg was privy to those communications – he never received war plans.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said there was no classified information transmitted in the chat.

Both Gabbard and Ratcliffe testified under oath in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee that no one sent any classified information in that group chat.

President Trump faced questions about if he would fire Waltz.

The media thirsted after Waltz’s scalp as a means of putting the administration on defense.

But President Trump wasn’t about to hand the jackals in the fake news media a victory.

President Trump defended Waltz in public and said he would remain in his job.

“He’s a very good man and he will continue to do a good job,” Trump told reporters.

Trump then dismissed the story as a nothing burger since no war plans or classified information was sent, all Goldberg had were messages showing administration officials debating policy.

“We’ve pretty much looked into it,” Trump added. “It’s pretty simple, to be honest, it’s just something that can happen.”
