The close of the 2024 campaign saw Kamala Harris and her allies pull out all the stops.

But one stunt crossed the line.

And Donald Trump caught Kamala Harris red handed in this illegal election act.

Kamala Harris appears on Saturday Night Live

The 72 hours before election day Kamala Harris jaunted into New York City for a cameo on Saturday Night Live.

A couple million viewers saw a lame sketch where Kamala appeared with Maya Rudolph – the comedian who plays her on the show – that was a rip off of a sketch done in 2015 with Donald Trump when was on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

This was supposed to be a campaign coup for Kamala.

NBC ran afoul of equal time laws.

Broadcast networks like NBC get free use of the airwaves and one of the conditions is they do not favor one political party over another.

That’s why when the President delivers a major primetime address such as the State of the Union the opposing party gets to offer a response.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) member Brandon Carr posted on X that if NBC didn’t charge Kamala Harris’ campaign for the Saturday Night Live cameo then the network was in violation of equal time laws.

“The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct — a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election,” Carr wrote.

Carr added that NBC and Saturday Night Live “appears to have structured this appearance in a way that evades these requirements.”

Since there are no more episodes of Saturday Night Live prior to the election Carr noted that there was no way for NBC to offer Donald Trump a comparable broadcast spot.

“What comparable time and placement can they offer all other qualifying candidates?” Carr asked.

Kamala Harris appearing on the last Saturday Night Live before the election looked especially dubious as producer Lorne Michaels specifically said earlier this year that the show wouldn’t have any of the candidates on since if one guest appeared then everyone running would have to get a cameo.

“You can’t bring the actual people who are running on because of election laws and the equal time provisions,” Michaels stated.

“You can’t have the main candidates without having all the candidates, and there are lots of minor candidates that are only on the ballot in, like, three states and that becomes really complicated,” Michaels concluded.

The FCC had a mess on their hands as their boss blatantly violated the law.

But the commission couldn’t call out Kamala.

Spokesperson Jonathan Uriarte wrote that the FVCC “has not made any determination regarding political programming rules, nor have we received a complaint from any interested parties.”

NBC later admitted they didn’t charge the Kamala Harris campaign for the two minutes of airtime she got on Saturday Night Live.

To remain in compliance with equal time laws the network granted Donald Trump two minutes on Sunday Night Football – the number one rated show in America – to run a campaign message.
