Dan Bongino is one of Donald Trump’s biggest supporters.

But even Dan Bongino couldn’t take it anymore.

And Dan Bongino got angry at Donald Trump for one big reason.

Early on in the transition there were rumors that Donald Trump could tap popular podcast host and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino to lead the Secret Service.

The choice of who heads the Secret Service is normally a low profile pick for an incoming President.

But in the wake of the massive security failures that saw Donald Trump survive two assassination attempts – including one where a gunman shot Trump in the head – Trump’s choice to lead the Secret Service took on paramount importance.

Bongino spent days warning before the inauguration that Trump’s life was in danger.

And the inauguration shifted indoors in a sign Bongino was right.

However, two days after the inauguration Bongino sounded resigned on social media.

“Don’t blame me. I tried,” Bongino wrote.

Bongino’s cryptic post referred to Trump naming Sean Curran – who was the head of his Secret Service detail and one of the agents who rushed on stage to cover Trump’s body after Trump got shot in head at the Butler rally – as the new head of the Secret Service.

Curran was seen by many as responsible for the security failures that day such as the gunman flying a drone over the site hours before the event and Trump taking the stage despite there being a report of a suspicious individual.

However, there was good news that Curran shared the Trump administration’s ethos to clean house as up to 10 senior Secret Service officials found out Curran planned to reassign, force them into retirement or fire them.

“On incoming Secret Service Director Sean Curran’s first day in the new role, 5-10 senior leadership officials, including former Director Ron Rowe, were warned that they would either be fired, moved, or pressed into retirement, according to three sources in the Secret Service community,” Real Clear Politics’ Susan Crabtree posted on X.

Crabtree added that part of the issue with the security at the Butler rally was the fact that the Biden administration’s choice for Secret Service leadership never informed Trump’s detail of all threats he faced prior to the event.

Had Curran and the other agents known of the true extent to which Trump’s life was in danger the security posture that day would have looked vastly different.

“One of the biggest complaints I’m hearing – and this is a big development — is that several top officials targeted for ousting didn’t tell Curran or ANYONE ON THE GROUND involved in security planning for the Butler rally about the threats against Trump pre-J13. Those officials are: Cheatle, Rowe, and David Torres, the assistant director of Strategic Intelligence and Information, according to two sources with first-hand knowledge, according to a well-placed source in the Secret Service community,” Crabtree added.
