Former allies in the Democrat Party are at each other’s throats.

It’s open warfare on the Left.

And Chuck Schumer took the gloves off after Nancy Pelosi betrayed him in one brutal way.

In Donald Trump’s first term, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi worked in lockstep to lead the resistance to the President’s agenda.

But the fracturing of the relationship between Schumer and Pelosi that is currently playing out in public is a microcosm of the disarray inside the Democrat Party as the Left attempts to reorient itself following President Trump’s victory last fall.

In a scene no one ever thought would take place, Schumer and Pelosi are openly sniping at one another in the press.

Schumer launched a broadside against Pelosi in an appearance on Meet the Press where Schumer essentially said Pelosi had no idea what she was talking about when she slammed Schumer for waving the white flag to President Trump and agreeing to support a bill that froze government spending for six months.

“Look, I’m not stepping down,” Schumer told Meet the Press host Kristin Welker. “I did it out of pure conviction as to what a leader should do and what the right thing for America and my party was. People disagree.”

Schumer was responding to comments Pelosi made where Pelosi mocked Schumer for giving the store away to Republicans.

“I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” Pelosi told reporters. “I think that’s what happened the other day.

Pelosi claimed if Schumer held out, he could have extracted concessions – like restrictions on Elon Musk and DOGE – from the GOP.

“We could have, in my view, perhaps gotten [Republicans] to agree to a third way,” Pelosi added.

Pelosi then went on to argue that a government shutdown would have boomeranged on the GOP.

“They may not have agreed to it, but at least the public would have seen them not agreeing to it — then [Republicans] would have been shutting the government down,” Pelosi concluded.

Chuck Schumer called bull on everything Pelosi said.

Schumer told Welker Democrats were in no position to make demands or win concessions because the Republican majorities in the House and Senate united behind a bill to freeze spending for the next six months.

The minority leader added that a government shutdown would have backfired as it would have allowed DOGE to close down even more departments and that Democrats would get the blame when the troops ended up not getting paid.

“What we got, at the end of the day, is avoiding the horror of a shutdown,” Schumer added. “There was no leverage point that we could’ve asked for things. They just would’ve said no.”

Schumer is facing growing calls to step down as leader.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is traveling the country rallying angry Democrats about how the party in Washington isn’t fighting President Trump hard enough.

Schumer is desperately trying to fend off this mutiny by lying about how President Trump is creating a Constitutional crisis.

Schumer declared that “Democracy is at risk. Look, Donald Trump is a lawless, angry man. He thinks he should be king. He thinks he should do whatever he wants, regardless of the law, and he thinks judges should just listen to him.”

Schumer worked himself into a lather inventing scare stories about what may happen if President Trump defies a Supreme Court order.

“Now we have to fight that back in every single way,” Schumer added. “This is an extraordinary moment. It does require extraordinary action. If he defies the Supreme Court, then we are in uncharted territory that we haven’t been in for a very long time.”

The dysfunction on the Left is only going to grow as Ocasio-Cortez and her rebels will see Schumer engaging in excuse-making and only grow angrier if Schumer continues to fail to stop the Trump agenda.
