And now Border Czar Tom Homan has delivered this bad news to the cartels.

Illegal aliens marching into America is just one aspect of the border crisis.

Mexican drug cartels smuggling deadly fentanyl into the United States, which then kills tens of thousands of Americans is the less discussed front in the war to secure the southern border.

Cartels normally use mules – drivers paid to transport drugs – to smuggle their product into the United States.

But as the Trump administration closes the border, the cartels are adopting new tactics.

Now cartels traffic their drugs to America by sea.

Fox News host Jesse Watters asked Border Czar Homan about plans to thwart the cartel’s maritime drug smuggling operations.

Homan said the administration had a plan in place to increase Coast Guard patrols to intercept drug shipments.

“Okay, they are going more maritime. We knew they would. That’s why we’ve increased our Coast Guard patrols three times, three times more than we have in the past. So the Coast Guard answered that call,” Homan stated.

But Homan added that just attempting to stop drug shipments wasn’t enough.

President Trump struck at the source of the cartel’s power – their money – by declaring them terrorist organizations.

Homan said this designation would allow the administration to ‘wipe them off the face of the earth.’

“You have killed more Americans than every terrorist organization in the world combined. You are now a terrorist organization.” Homan continued. 

“So word out to anybody that assists them, anybody sells your drugs down the street, anybody [that] assist[s] these cartels in any way you are helping a terrorist organization and the weight of the world coming down on you,” Homan added.

Fox News reported that the cartels President Trump designated as terrorist organizations were “Tren de Aragua; Mara Salvatrucha, also known as MS-13; the Sinaloa Cartel; New Generation Cartel of Jalisco; United Cartels; Northeast Cartel; Gulf Cartel; and La Nueva Familia Michoacana, or LNFM, many of which go under multiple different names.”

Homan told Watters that without money, the cartels couldn’t bribe the judges and government officials in Mexico to look the other way.

Designating the cartels as terrorist organizations allowed law enforcement to achieve that goal by granting the authority to target the banks in the 43 foreign countries where Cartels stashed their money.

“You put them out of business, you take their money away. They can’t bribe Mexican officials. They can’t bribe anybody without money to have no power. We’re not just going to attack the Mexico cartel. We’re going to attack them worldwide,” Homan declared.
