Bill Maher got sued for this ugly sex scandal allegation
Bill Maher may end up in court.
The liberal comedian got blindsided by the news.
And Bill Maher got sued for this ugly sex scandal allegation.
Laura Loomer files defamation suit after Bill Maher jokes about her having an affair with Trump
An early sign that the media knew Vice President Kamala Harris didn’t perform well at the September 10 debate was the fact that the press tried to make the big story coming out of the event the fact that right-wing activist Laura Loomer flew on former President Donald Trump’s plane to Philadelphia, the site of the debate.
Loomer is a controversial social media activist, and the press tried to smear Trump with a guilt-by-association campaign to falsely link him to some of Loomer’s more outlandish comments and behavior.
Comedian Bill Maher’s commentary stood out as on the September 13 edition of his HBO Real Time program he joked that Loomer flew with Trump because the two were having an affair.
“I think maybe Laura Loomer is in an arranged relationship to affect the election because she’s very close to Trump. She’s 31, looks like his type. We did an editorial here a few years ago … it was basically, who’s Trump f**king? Because, I said, you know, it’s not nobody. He’s been a dog for too long, and it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week. I think it might be Laura Loomer,” Maher stated.
Loomer warned Maher she was going to sue him for defamation.
And she made good on her promise by filing a $150 million defamation lawsuit against the comedian.
What the complaint alleges
Attorneys for Loomer argued that Maher targeted her with false allegations of having an affair with Trump because of her high-profile advocacy for the former President on social media and work as a journalist.
“Ms. Loomer has been a strong advocate for President Donald Trump in her profession as a conservative activist and investigative journalist over the past decade,” the complaint read.
“Ms. Loomer promotes individual freedoms, strong national security, secure and closed borders, and constitutional conservative values, all of which are in league with President Trump’s pro-American policies and agenda,” the complaint added.
The complaint alleged that Maher’s smear about the affair hurt Loomer’s credibility as a journalist since her work depends on readers believing she is dishing it straight.
“Accordingly, she became a target of Bill Maher and Home Box Office, both of whom advocate for Democrat Party officials and values. They attacked Ms. Loomer with defamatory statements as a vehicle to harm President Trump and his campaign for the presidency of the United States, and to harm Ms. Loomer’s credibility. Bill Maher is a known Trump hater. It is an outrage that Maher and Home Box Office would try to destroy a professional woman in their zeal to harm President Trump,” the complaint stated.
Maher’s attack in Loomer is an example of a larger phenomenon in media and pop culture.
The Left hates Donald Trump and holds his supporters in such contempt that there are no longer decency guardrails on the casual profanity or types of personal attacks that would never be made against other politicians or the people who surround them.
