Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is out to get Donald Trump.

But she may have bitten off more than she could chew.

And all hell broke loose when Trump revealed what Fani Willis did to him in prison.

Trump says Willis tortured him in prison

When Democrats began hitting former President Donald Trump with a cascade of indictments beginning with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s sham charges in New York, the conventional wisdom was that the mere act of facing criminal charges would render him unelectable.

By the time Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed the fourth and final indictment against him, Democrats realized this turned out to be a grave miscalculation.

Willis famously forced Trump to take a mugshot.

And Trump emailed supporters stating that Willis tortured him while her officers booked him on the joke charges that are now falling apart thanks to Willis’ sex scandal.

“I want you to remember what they did to me,” Trump wrote to supporters.

“They tortured me in the Fulton County Jail, and TOOK MY MUGSHOT,” Trump added.

“So guess what? I put it on a mug for the WHOLE WORLD TO SEE!” Trump concluded.

Willis demanding Trump take the mugshot was supposed to serve as the defining image of the 2024 Election that Democrats would campaign on.

Instead, the picture turned into an iconic image of defiance as the Trump campaign posted its biggest fundraising numbers after Donald Trump returned to X to post the photo.

“The former president has raised $7.1 million since he was booked at an Atlanta jail Thursday evening, according to figures provided first to POLITICO by his campaign. On Friday alone, Trump raised $4.18 million, making it the single-highest 24-hour period of his campaign to date, according to a person familiar with the totals,” POLITICO reported at the time.

Lawfare leads to fundraising boom

The criminal conviction against Trump in New York also fizzled out.

Trump erased President Joe Biden’s advantage in fundraising outraising him and the Democrats 141 million to 81 million in May.

$50 million of that haul came in the 24 hours after the conviction.

The guilty verdict also didn’t budge the poll numbers.

Georgia famously went blue in 2020 and handed Democrats the Senate majority in 2021.

Yet the suburban voters who swung to Biden aren’t bothered in the least by Trump’s conviction.

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll taken post-verdict found Trump leading Biden by five points.

Criminal charges were supposed to be the Left’s ace in the hole.

Instead, they proved to be rocket fuel for Donald Trump’s campaign.
