Alina Habba thought she was venturing into friendly territory on Fox News.

But the sparks were flying in one interview.

And Alina Habba was blindsided when Laura Ingraham asked her one scary question.

Alina Habba pressed about Donald Trump’s China policy

One of the reasons that President Donald Trump has become so popular is that he doesn’t follow the script of a typical politician.

Trump doesn’t use rehearsed talking points or poll-tested lines that are popular with the political establishment.

He’s often firing from the hip when he speaks.

Counselor to the President Alina Habba was grilled by Fox News host Laura Ingraham about comments Trump made on China during the first cabinet meeting of his Presidency.

“I see so many things saying that we don’t want China in this country,” Trump said. “That’s not right. We want them to invest in the United States. That’s good. That’s a lot of money coming in. And we’ll invest in China.”

Ingraham wondered if this was a departure from Trump’s America First agenda.

“China’s already bought up American companies, agricultural interests, and huge swaths of land and properties! Including some that we’ve documented here on the Angle near our military bases. But did MAGA turn out for Trump because they wanted more of that?” Ingraham asked. “A fine line must be walked. Americans first, always. No matter what the donors want.”

Habba was brought on where she clarified the President’s remarks.

“A little murmuring in MAGA-land about the comments about China today,” Ingraham said. “Did MAGA vote for China to be able to buy up more American real estate or American companies, they ask.”

Habba was surprised at the reaction that Ingraham had.

“Is that really a question?” Habba President. “Really? That’s what we’re doing now, the spin? That’s the spin? Yeah, no. What the President said was very simple. It’s the same policy we’ve had across the board.”

She said that Trump was always looking to put America first.

“When you look at reciprocal tariffs, when you look at the strong arm that President Trump has had with China, with Canada, with Mexico. We want America to be safe. We care about American people first,” Habba explained.

Alina Habba clears up misconceptions

Ingraham was still skeptical of the answer that Habba had.

“But you can’t buy … reciprocity would mean Americans can go off and buy lots of Chinese real estate,” Ingraham said. “Real estate near military bases, which I know President Trump is not in favor of. But the concern, obviously is … you know, the deals are great and so much of them are phenomenal.”

The Fox News host warned that some wanted to subvert the Trump agenda.

“But you see where Democrats are starting to worm their way into the populist agenda and say, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! How is that for the American worker, to bring in thousands of more foreign workers?’ That is what some on the MAGA side are kind of whispering about. But nevertheless, it’s out there,” Ingraham added.

Habba cleared things up by explaining that Trump still wanted to trade and have a relationship with China but on America’s terms.

“What the President was referring to was us continuing to have business relations. We do import/export. Of course we do. That is what we’re talking about,” Habba responded. “Yes, we are going to be a strong nation. Yes, we are going to have peace through strength. Yes, we are going to have a stronger economy.”

She said that having a business relationship with China wasn’t betraying the President’s agenda.

“And we were going to cut the fat through DOGE, through the President’s initiatives and what we have voted for — the American people have voted for — on November 5th. But that means that, yes, we’re going to be tough, but we still want to make money. We still want to be producing. We still want to work with other countries,” Habba concluded.

Donald Trump is working to ensure that America doesn’t get a raw deal from other countries.
