A secret audio tape created this awful problem for Elon Musk
Elon Musk is preparing to play a major role in the second Trump administration in helping to slash federal spending.
That made Musk enemies in the swamp.
A secret audio tape created this awful problem for Elon Musk.
CNN tries to create conflict
Donald Trump named Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as the co-chairs of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
On the campaign trail Musk said he could identify $2 trillion in spending cuts.
Ramaswamy recently revealed he and Musk already discovered more than $500 million in wasteful spending programs that Congress could cut simply because Congress hadn’t authorized their funding.
But the swamp won’t tolerate one nickel in spending cuts.
The more money available to a government agency, the more powerful it becomes.
And the swamp won’t take these proposed spending cuts lying down.
CNN reported an audio tape – likely fed to it by one of Musk’s enemies in the swamp – where Ramaswamy attacked Musk for producing batteries for his Tesla cars in Communist China.
“I think Tesla is increasingly beholden to China,” Ramaswamy stated back in 2023.
“I have no reason to think Elon won’t jump like a circus monkey when Xi Jinping calls in the hour of need,” Ramaswamy added.
In a Fox News podcast appearance in 2022 Ramaswamy slammed Musk for accepting government subsidies for Tesla and SpaceX.
“Both Tesla and SpaceX quite likely would not exist as successful businesses if it were not for the use of public funding, either through subsidies, through the electric car industry, or through actual government contracting in the case of SpaceX,” Ramaswamy declared.
Ramaswamy also doubled down on his criticism of Musk and his business ties to Communist China.
“Elon Musk has, I think, demonstrated his willingness to change his political tunes based on the favors that he gets to be able to do business in China,” Ramaswamy added.
When reached for comment Ramaswamy said he and Musk discussed these comments, hashed out their differences and were prepared to move forward with DOGE’s mission to gut government spending so as to help America get a handle on the $35 trillion national debt that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden left behind.
“We aired some of these issues the first time we spoke,” he said in a statement. Along with crediting Musk for taking “extraordinary risks against his financial interests,” Ramaswamy said in a statement to CNN.
“I love him and respect the hell out of him, and I’m proud to call him a friend. The only country he puts first is the same one I do: the United States of America,” Ramaswamy added.
Democrats support DOGE with Florida Congressman Jared Moskowitz joining the Congressional DOGE caucus and expressing support for its mission.
“I believe that streamlining government processes and reducing inefficient government spending should not be a partisan issue. I’ve been clear that there are ways we can reorganize our government to make it work better for the American people,” Moskowitz remarked.
“The Caucus should look at the bureaucracy that DHS has become and include recommendations to make Secret Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency independent federal agencies with a direct report to the White House. It’s not practical to have 22 agencies under this one department,” Moskowitz concluded.
DOGE is popular, which is why CNN is trying to kill it by creating a fake conflict between Ramaswamy and Musk.
