Hamas confirmed it. Senior official Bassem Naim posted on X that the group "agreed to the roadmap."
This isn't Hamas hinting at concessions to buy time.
This is a documented 15-point plan requiring Hamas and every other armed faction in Gaza to hand over their weapons entirely.
Heavy weaponry gets delivered within three months under the timeline. Police weapons go first. Tunnels and rocket launchers follow.
For a group whose armed wing was publicly calling disarmament demands unacceptable just months ago, this is capitulation dressed up as diplomacy.
Trump's Board of Peace Did What Two Decades of Failed Diplomacy Couldn't
The Board of Peace didn't exist a year ago.
Trump built it from scratch after his 20-point plan ended the war between Israel and Hamas last October.
Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey all sat at the table as mediators.
Nickolay Mladenov, the board's high representative for Gaza, called the negotiations "months of very difficult" work to reach this point.
A Board of Peace official described the entire framework as built on "zero trust," meaning neither side advances to the next phase until international monitors confirm the other side actually delivered.
That's not naive diplomacy. That's a system built by people who know exactly who they're dealing with.
Compare that to the last two decades of Gaza policy, where every American administration treated Hamas as a problem to be managed rather than a threat to be dismantled.
Trump built the first framework that actually gets Hamas to put down its weapons on paper.
Hamas Is Already Trying to Wiggle Out of Its Own Signature
Senior Hamas negotiator Ghazi Hamad told reporters the group would not implement any part of the deal unless Israel meets its own obligations first.
That's Hamas's standard playbook. Sign something publicly, then find a reason to slow-walk it.
Israel, for its part, has stayed conspicuously quiet on formally accepting the same roadmap.
Hamas has never surrendered its weapons voluntarily in its entire history as an organization.
This is the closest any agreement has ever come to forcing that outcome on paper.
What Happens Next Determines Whether This Was Real
The next 14 days were supposed to produce a finalized disarmament timeline once both sides signed on.
An International Verification Committee now has to certify every phase before the next one begins.
Israel completes withdrawal only as Hamas actually hands over weapons, not before.
The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza takes over civilian governance, backed by an International Stabilization Force replacing Israeli troops on the ground.
Skeptics inside Israel's own government still doubt Hamas will follow through.
They've been burned by broken promises out of Gaza before.
But for the first time since this war began, Hamas has a signature on paper instead of an excuse in a press conference.
