Pelón sits at the top of the list, sanctioned as CJNG's new supreme leader.

According to Treasury, El Jardinero commands cartel territory across five states – Zacatecas, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Jalisco – while El Sapo runs his own separate network.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made clear this was not a symbolic gesture.

"President Trump has made it clear that terrorist cartels will be dismantled," Bessent said.

The sanctions freeze every dollar these men can touch inside the American financial system.

Energy companies, liquor manufacturers, a sports supplement company, even a baby shoe factory – all named as fronts Treasury says laundered cartel cash.

Fuel theft, timeshare fraud, and fentanyl trafficking all ran through that same network.
