Donald Trump revealed this is the next government agency to be shut down

Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency are on a mission to drain the swamp and shrink the size of government.
America’s $36 trillion debt leaves no other choice.
And Donald Trump revealed this is the next government agency to be shut down.
Ever since 1980, Republicans campaigned on closing the Department of Education.
Conservatives know that federal bureaucrats micromanaging education standards and curriculum leads to disaster.
The department’s budget for 2025 is over $100 billion and America ranks 31st globally in terms of educational attainment.
President Trump intended to finally make good on the GOP’s 45-year promise to tear down the Department of Education to the studs.
That’s why a top official with the department announced mass firing of one third of the work force – or a little over 1,300 bureaucrats.
“Today we are beginning the process to cut the total number of staff at the Department of Education roughly in half,” the official told reporters.
The Trump administration would begin by eliminating redundancies.
“We are focusing on eliminating full teams whose operations are either redundant or not necessary for the functioning of the department,” the official continued.
The Trump administration planned to put the fired employees on paid leave to keep them out of the building for security reasons.
“We’re going to have these folks roll over their responsibilities by Friday, March 21st. They will then go on paid administrative leave until the reduction in force is complete,” a Trump official explained. “They will be teleworking from tomorrow until March 21st. Then all of that is being done for safety reasons to protect the 2,183 employees that are going to remain after the RIF is complete.”
And just to make sure there wasn’t any confusion, Education Secretary Linda McMahon did an interview with Laura Ingraham where she confirmed that the mass layoffs were done with the goal of closing down the department.
“Yes — actually, it is,” McMahon said in response to Ingraham’s question about whether President Trump still intended to close down the Department of Education.
McMahon repeated the charge President Trump gave her when she was named as his Education Secretary – and that was to do such a good job that she put herself out of a job.
“That was the president’s mandate,” McMahon declared. “His directive to me clearly is to shut down the Department of Education.”
McMahon explained that the reduction of force was necessary to save the taxpayers money.
“What we did today was to take the first step of eliminating what I think is bureaucratic bloat,” McMahon added.
Teachers Union boss Randi Weingarten falsely claimed that shutting down the Department of Education would deprive children of schooling.
McMahon ridiculed that as nonsense.
“Well, clearly we’re not taking away education,” McMahon stated. “The President never said that. He’s taking the bureaucracy out of education so that more money flows to the states.”
And if anyone took away children’s educational opportunities, it was Weingarten who led the push to keep schools closed during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 in a move so disastrous that even Democrats are now embarrassed to admit they went along with this scheme.
