President Trump delivered a joint address to Congress last week.

The Democrat Party quickly became the story – and not in a good way.

And Democrats got humiliated by Donald Trump during his speech with this stupid spectacle.

Congressional Democrats wanted to show their voters they understood the far-left base wants a knockdown, drag out fight with President Trump.

Democrats sought to do that by protesting at President Trump’s first joint address to Congress.

But House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries(D-NY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) didn’t want clown show displays that would focus attention on the Left’s antics.

Some Democrats staged a walkout during the speech.

Others held up paddles like one would see at an auction that had “lies” and “false” printed on them that Democrats held up at various points during the speech.

This display was so embarrassing and impotent that even normal Democrat Party cheerleaders like Late Show host Stephen Colbert spoke up.

Colbert spoke to the manic anxiety many in the credentialed class on the Left feel about President Trump when Colbert mocked Democrats for the best they mustered as a resistance to President Trump.

“He barked out one appalling claim after another, but don’t you worry: Democrats are getting ready to fight back with their little paddles,” Colbert stated.

Colbert is one of the hopeless leftists who actually think democracy is at stake with Trump sitting in the Oval Office.

And Colbert mocked Democrats for supposedly not taking seriously the supposed danger Trump represented.

“That is how you save democracy: by quietly dissenting,” Colbert snarked. “Or bidding on an antique tea set. It was hard to tell what was going on.”

Colbert sent his own message to Democrats which read “Try Doing Something.”

Colbert then mocked female Democrat members of Congress who dressed up in pink as their protest of President Trump.

“Many women on the Democratic side showed up dressed in fuchsia,” Colbert added. “It’s the kind of bold protest that says, ‘This is a test print and your magenta cartridge is working.’”

But there was one Democrat Colbert singled out for praise – 77-year-old Texas Democrat Al Green, who got ejected from the House Chamber by Speaker Mike Johnson after Green refused to sit down and continued to heckle President Trump.

“Ultimately [Speaker Mike] Johnson called in the sergeant-at-arms to remove the 77-year-old Texas congressman,” Colbert added. “Now, some people have questioned why so much muscle was needed to remove one old man with a cane. But it turns out it was for a serious reason: when security searched him, they found that he had smuggled in a spine.”

Most Democrat commentators realized how embarrassing the display was with CNN’s David Axelrod condemning Green’s behavior as “despicable.”

Axelrod also lamented Democrats’ inhuman behavior when none of them stood to applaud when Trump announced that 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniels – whose dream was to be a cop – would be inducted right then and there as an honorary Secret Service agent.

“I think there were times when [Democrats] should’ve risen. I think what Al Green did was despicable,” Axelrod remarked.

In every facet, President Trump’s joint address to Congress was a public and political humiliation for Democrats.
