Donald Trump told Joe Biden the two words America was waiting to hear
Joe Biden spent four years weakening America’s economy and national security.
But Biden wasn’t off the hook just because Kamala Harris lost the election.
And Donald Trump told Joe Biden the two words America was waiting to hear.
On February 5, 2021, Joe Biden shattered historic norms by revoking Donald Trump’s access to daily intelligence briefings, a custom normally afforded to former Presidents.
Biden cited the January 6 hoax as the reason for ending Trump’s ability to receive intelligence briefings.
“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings,” Biden told reporters.
Biden then argued the briefings served no practical purpose.
“What value is giving him an intelligence briefing?” Biden added. “What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”
Joe Biden and the Democrat Party never expected a Donald Trump return to office.
Had Biden taken a clear eyed view of the situation, he might have realized that demolishing norms created a situation where Donald Trump would one day force Biden to live under the rules he created.
That’s what happened nearly four years later to the day when on February 7, 2025, Donald Trump ended Joe Biden’s customary daily intelligence briefing every former President is entitled to receive.
Trump even specifically cited the precedent Biden set as just following the new standard in ending Biden’s intelligence briefing.
“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings. He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump also pointed to special counsel Robert Hur’s report on Joe Biden stealing classified documents as reason number two for canceling Biden’s intelligence briefing.
“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from “poor memory” and, even in his “prime,” could not be trusted with sensitive information. I will always protect our National Security,” Trump added.
Finally, Trump deployed his trademark, “you’re fired” catchphrase to drive the point home.
“JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump concluded.
In his report, Hur essentially said Biden’s senility was why he didn’t recommend charges.
Hur wrote that a jury would never convict Biden seeing him as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
The special counsel also reported there was ample evidence to show Biden willfully retained classified documents in violation of federal law and cited Biden’s interactions with his ghostwriter.
“Mr. Biden shared information, including some classified information, from those notebooks with his ghostwriter,” Hur wrote.
In one 2017 session Biden even told the ghostwriter he kept all his classified documents stored in his basement.
“I just found all the classified stuff downstairs,” Biden stated.
There is also an open question about the value of an intelligence briefing for Biden because in his current state it’s highly unlikely he could even understand what is going on.
