Chicago Mayor defends an illegal alien child predator remaining in the United States
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents launched a nationwide sweep to arrest illegal aliens convicted of crimes as part of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation effort.
Reality show host Dr. Phil McGraw was embedded with “Border Czar” Tom Homan and ICE agents for a raid in Chicago.
A cameraman for McGraw’s Merit TV rode along and recorded the action.
The first illegal alien arrested by ICE was a convicted child sex offender and internet predator from Thailand.
He had been living illegally in Chicago since 2009 and never registered as a sex offender.
Someone who preyed on children was allowed to remain in the United States because Chicago’s government had no interest in removing him from the country.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) has been one of the most outspoken critics of Trump’s plan to deport illegal aliens.
He vowed to resist any effort by ICE to apprehend illegal aliens, even criminals, from Chicago.
A reporter grilled Johnson about the child predator who was arrested on Dr. Phil’s TV show.
“Tom Homan showed up in Chicago and within 24 hours found a convicted sex offender who has been living in our city since 2009, flouting the sex offender registry,” the reporter said. “If he can do this, why can’t you?”
Johnson tried his best to pass the buck.
“Because that’s their job,” Johnson said. “That is their job. The federal government has a responsibility to make sure that individuals who are undocumented who have been charged with, convicted of, a crime, it is the federal government’s responsibility to do their part to uphold the law.”
Johnson wants to stop the Trump administration from rounding up child predators because he’s more interested in protecting illegal aliens than Americans.
Chicago’s sanctuary law prevents law enforcement from working with ICE to remove heinous criminals like this from the country.
The city released the child predator back on the streets after he was arrested rather than notify ICE.
Democrat Mayor doesn’t care about the safety of his city
Homan said that Chicago was putting its citizens in danger by protecting illegal aliens during Dr. Phil’s ride-along.
“We got an illegal alien, convicted of sex crimes involving children. He’s walking the streets of Chicago,” Homan said. “Again, the downfall, the problems with the sanctuary city—people like this walking the streets, rather than local law enforcement working with federal agents. This is what we’re dealing with.”
After Johnson tried to deflect from letting a child predator walk the streets, another violent crime committed by illegal aliens happened.
Two illegal aliens who crossed the southern border in 2023 were arrested for the gruesome murder of a 63-year-old man in his Chicago home.
One of the illegal aliens had been arrested for trying to lure a 13-year-old girl into his home.
Chicago police released him after he was arrested and weren’t able to contact ICE because of the sanctuary city law.
Mayor Johnson doesn’t value the lives of the people he claims to represent.
