Target waved the white flag of surrender after Trump laid down this ultimatum
Woke corporations are on notice now that Donald Trump is in the White House.
CEOs have a major decision to make.
And Target waved the white flag of surrender after Trump laid down this ultimatum.
Americans spoke with one voice in re-electing Donald Trump.
They are sick and tired of woke corporations injecting themselves into the culture wars and trying to impose deranged ideologies on America and its children.
Shortly after Trump’s election, Meta, Amazon, and McDonald’s announced they were winding down DEI programs.
In Trump’s first week in office, Taret became the latest iconic American brand to terminate their DEI programs.
“Belonging at the Bullseye strategy adapts to the evolving external landscape. This includes concluding its three-year DEI goals and ending its Racial Equity Action and Change (REACH) initiatives in 2025, as planned,” Target’s chief community impact and equity officer Kiera Fernandez wrote.
Fernandez all but admitted Target was giving up on DEI because company executives read the room following the 2024 election.
“As a retailer that serves millions of consumers every day, we understand the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape, now and in the future — all in service of driving Target’s growth and winning together,” Fernandez added.
Fernandez added a bunch of corporate mumbo jumbo to let the Left down easy and prevent any attacks on social media from the woke mob.
“We remain focused on driving our business by creating a sense of belonging for our team, guests and communities through a commitment to inclusion. Belonging for all is an essential part of our team and culture, helping fuel consumer relevance and business results,” Fernandez continued.
Donald Trump ended woke in the federal government by rescinding a 1965 President Lyndon Baines Johnson executive order that wrote what we now know as DEI into hiring programs for any business that contracted or subcontracted with the federal government.
But Trump also took aim at private sector DEI programs.
Trump signed an executive order instructing the Justice Department to investigate illegal and discriminatory DEI programs.
“Illegal DEI and DEIA policies not only violate the text and spirit of our longstanding Federal civil-rights laws, they also undermine our national unity, as they deny, discredit, and undermine the traditional American values of hard work, excellence, and individual achievement in favor of an unlawful, corrosive, and pernicious identity-based spoils system,” Trump’s executive order stated.
Target executives didn’t just experience a “come to Jesus moment” where they realized they got caught up in the woke madness that began sweeping over America in 2020.
This was a business decision.
The company’s head honchos didn’t want the lawyers from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division combing through company records as part of a costly investigation that could result in hefty fines.
