Democrats and the media actually believe January 6 was a day of infamy on par with Pearl Harbor.
Trump Derangement Syndrome caused the Left to lose all perspective and think Trump supporters actually tried to end American democracy at the urging of Donald Trump.
Daily Show host Jon Stewart made light of the fact that Kamala Harris had to preside over the ceremony that made her defeat official.
Ironically, Stewart’s monologue also showed the Left’s hypocrisy on contesting elections claiming no one knew anything about January 6 until four years ago.
“Be honest. Before that insurrection, you had no fuggin idea what that was about. You had no idea there was a January 6 ceremony or what it did, or why it did. Now you just got to act like, ‘Oh, that’s the reading of the election. So important!’” Stewart declared.
Democrats actually knew all about January 6.
In 2000, 2004 and 2016 Democrats invented unhinged conspiracy theories to deny the results of those elections and try and overturn lawful victories by Republicans George W. Bush and Donald Trump.
This time no Democrat objected.
Leadership likely put the screws to Democrats not to object so they wouldn’t look completely two faced for claiming Donald Trump was a threat to democracy while objecting to his landslide victory.
At one point Stewart played a clip of Kamala reading aloud Trump’s 312 Electoral College vote total causing Republicans in their chamber to burst out in applause.
Stewart mocked Kamala having to stand there and listen to Republicans revel in her defeat.
“That’s got to sting. She’s like, ‘Um, I can hear you,’” Stewart joked.
Stewart compared Kamala having to stand there and listen to the opposition cheering to having to attend “your own funeral.
“That’s like attending your own funeral, and even the mourners are like, ‘Woo-hoo!’ I can’t imagine anything that would be more uncomfortable than sitting there while the crowd applauds your opponent,” Stewart added.
But what Stewart found even more ridiculous was when Democrats burst out into an even louder round of applause when Kamala Harris read out her losing total of 226 Electoral College votes.
“Wait! That sounded louder,” Stewart snarked.
Stewart then went on to demonstrate how preposterous this display was.
“There is a lot of joy in that room. I think she can still win this thing! She just needs them to find 130,000 votes in Georgia! And then some in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and maybe Wisconsin,” Stewart exclaimed.
Most Democrats hope this Joint Session of Congress is the final public appearance for Kamala Harris as a serious political figure.
Stewart treating her like a joke certainly sends that signal.
