Democrats are trying to pick up the pieces after Donald Trump’s election victory.

There are already signs that Trump 2.0 won’t be anything like the first version.

And John Fetterman gave Democrats some bad news about Donald Trump.

John Fetterman comments show Democrats taking a different approach to Trump

When Donald Trump won in 2016, Democrats adopted a posture of unyielding opposition.

Hundreds of thousands of pink p**** hat wearing lunatics marched in the street immediately following Trump’s inauguration.

The first articles in the media about impeaching Trump appeared shortly thereafter.

This time the reaction to Trump is 180 degrees different.

Democrats didn’t invent a new conspiracy theory to explain Trump’s win.

And some Democrats even said they would vote for some of Trump’s nominees.

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman told Fox News Sunday he was taking a wait and see approach to the new Trump administration.

Fetterman said he would vote for Marco Rubio to serve as Secretary of State and even said he was open to voting to confirm Dr. Mehmet Oz – who Fetterman beat in the 2022 Senate race – to head the Center for Medicare Services.

When asked about why he would consider voting for these Trump nominees, Fetterman said that he agreed with Bill Maher that it was a waste of time and energy to pre-emptively hate Trump before he had a chance to govern.

“I’m not sure why that’s controversial to say. I saw a [clip] from Bill Maher. He just said I’m not going to pre-hate, I’m not going to pre-hate a lot of these things. And I’m not going to pre-hate this. I’m going to have an open conversation for anyone that I’m open to having part of that conversation,” Fetterman added.

Fetterman said he would evaluate Trump’s nominees on a case by case basis and that he was fine voting for establishment friendly nominees like Rubio and Elise Stefanik to serve as Ambassador to the United Nations.

“And there’s some people that I just couldn’t be able to vote for and there’s some that might be able to enthusiastically vote yes. And like my — Senator Rubio or Stefanik or actually, there’s now a fantastic labor — a labor nominee as well too. In fact, a Democratic colleague from the House just texted me and said, hey, I think she’s — I think she’s really strong and I think that’s a great candidate,” Fetterman added.

Fetterman said there were Trump nominees and policies he couldn’t support, but that elections have consequences so he accepts the fact that will be the case.

“So I think there’s good things there, and there’s some things that I can’t vote for. But that’s what happens when the other team wins, and I don’t understand why it’s controversial to say, hey, we’re going to engage in that conversation. But I also would remind my side that, you know, in the Senate, we’re at 53-47, with the new administration. So they’re going to have the votes at the end of the day,” Fetterman concluded.
