Pelosi undercuts Biden

President Joe Biden’s handlers thought they settled all internal dissent on him remaining the nominee.

Then Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) showed up on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

She hedged on supporting Biden telling Jonathan Lemire that it was up to him to decide if he wanted to run or not.

“It’s up to the President to decide if he is going to run. We’re all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short. I think overwhelming support of the caucus — it’s not for me to say, I’m not the head of the caucus anymore — but, he’s beloved, he is respected, and people want him to make that decision,” Pelosi stated.

Punchbowl News’s Jake Sherman reported these comments dropped like a “bomb” in the Democrat caucus and he expected more Democrats to use Pelosi as cover to speak out against Biden.

Biden’s allies push back

The media worships Nancy Pelosi.

Members of the press may actually place Pelosi on a higher pedestal than former President Barack Obama.

That’s why it was so stunning to see MSNBC co-host Mika Brzezinski push back against Pelosi in defense of Joe Biden.

In what may be a first – no MSNBC host has likely ever said Pelosi was wrong about anything – Brzezinski chided Democrats for publicly sabotaging Joe Biden’s campaign.

“It’s true what a dictatorship looks like when it’s coming at you at 100 miles an hour. And people do get really scared, and they act in ways that they never expect. And I think we all ought to take a close look, especially Democrats, at ourselves because there is a bit of self-destruction that is happening here. I really disagree with Nancy Pelosi, with her remarks, and I have tremendous respect for her,” Brzezinski stated.

Brzezinski called Pelosi a friend and suggested that she stop saying Biden needs to tell everyone that he’s running when at every opportunity since the debate he’s said he won’t get out of the race short of the “Lord Almighty” telling him to do so.

“She’s a close family friend. But Joe Biden is the President of the United States, and he says he’s not leaving. Those are his words. I suggest somebody think about, consider, believing him,” Brzezinski added.

Brzezinski again defended Joe Biden as the best person for the job of defeating Donald Trump.

“And look at what he has to consider, Anand. Because he has to look at his record, and that’s the record he’s presenting to the American people. And it is a record that is, by any measure, historic. And he also feels that with his wisdom and his experience, both winning and losing throughout his life, that he’s the best person for the job,” Brzezinski continued.

For years, conservatives marveled at how in every policy fight Democrats always managed to maintain unity.

That was always their strength.

But now the host of the cable news show that Joe Biden watches religiously and the most powerful Democrat in Congress are at each other’s throat over his future.

And the longer this fight plays out, the worse it will get for Democrats.
