But Jean-Pierre wasn’t about to go away quietly.

The Associated Press is a leftist propaganda outfit that uses its stylebook – for example, transgender surgeries that mutilate children’s bodies are called “gender affirming care” – to infect pro-Democrat bias in news copy.
The Associated Press purposefully misinformed their readers by referring to the “Gulf of America” as the “Gulf of Mexico” in news copy.
Leavitt refused to allow the Associated Press to cover Oval Office press conferences and fly on Air Force One while retaining their press credential and access to all other White House news services.
The Trump administration is smashing the Left’s monopoly on the media narrative and Jean-Pierre wasn’t happy at all.
“If you look at the Associated Press, they are the oldest wire in the press briefing room. And you think about journalists, you think about the reason they’re in the press briefing room, you think about the reason they’re in the pool, it’s called a protective pool, there are 13 members of the pool — I’m trying not to get too wonky here — and their job is to provide unbiased information to the American people because the American people deserve that,” Jean-Pierre ranted and raved during an appearance on The View.
Jean-Pierre also fumed over Leavitt announcing the leftwing White House Correspondents Association – whose President is an MSNBC host – won’t get to pick the press pool that covers the President.
Leavitt wanted to open up the pool to all media voices as opposed to the clique of pro-Democrat reporters who slanted coverage of the President with their partisan bias.
Jean-Pierre then went on to compare Leavitt opening up the press pool to all media outlets to North Korea where only state run media outlets exist.
“And when the White House press team decides to step in and override the White House Correspondents’ Association, who — they have the job of doing that, then what we’re looking at is state TV. What we’re looking at is what Russia is doing. What we’re looking at is what North Korea is doing. And we are doing — they are attacking the fiber of the freedom of the press, they are destroying it because they want to be covered in a friendly way,” Jean-Pierre stated.
According to Jean-Pierre, adding more media voices with diverse opinions into the mix was an attack on democracy.
“Other countries are wondering, what are we saying as the United States? What is it that we want to do? And it is an exercise of democracy,” Jean-Pierre added.
The Left owned the media for decades.
But the 2024 election showed the balance of power is shifting away from the legacy media and towards independent press outlets and podcasts.
Leavitt recognized this reality and opened up access to the White House press pool.
What terrifies Jean-Pierre and other Democrats is they are losing the North Korean-like media ecosystem that covers the President where ideological leftists get to decide how the American people get to view the news.
