Kamala Harris is facing a big decision.

She needs to pick a running mate before the August 19 convention.

And Kamala Harris is about to pick this Democrat as her Vice President.

A favorite emerges

Trump campaign advisor Chris LaCivita set social media on fire by posting that he had it on good authority that Vice President Kamala Harris planned to pick left-wing Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) as her running mate.

As the governor of a key swing state, Shapiro seemed to make electoral sense.

And he didn’t deny that Harris offered him the running mate role.

“Following his call, I received a call from Vice President Harris, and we talked about one thing and one thing only, well, I guess technically two. One, she asked me for my endorsement,” Shapiro told reporters.

He offered what is known as a non-denial denial in response to the running mate inquiries.

“Two, we discussed how to defeat Donald Trump here in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro added.

“That’s all we discussed. And she and I had not spoken since then,” Shapiro continued.

Shapiro then claimed this was a “personal decision” for Harris to make.

“The Vice President now has a deeply personal decision to make, one that she is obviously quite familiar with because she went through it with then-candidate Biden when she was selected to serve as the Vice President of the United States. That is a deeply personal decision that should be made free from any political pressure,” Shapiro concluded. “This is a process that the Vice President needs to go through and make her decision based upon factors that she lays forward.”

Shapiro’s future

Shapiro is a prime presidential contender for 2028.

Hitching his wagon to Kamala Harris could severely damage his prospects should she lose to former President Donald Trump for 2028.

And Shapiro on the ticket also exposes the ugly anti-Semitic fissures in the Democrat Party as the ascendent pro-Hamas caucus objects to his Jewish faith.

Left-wing activists slammed the idea of Shapiro on the ticket because he refused to coddle the Hamas supporters in the Democrat Party.

An American Greatness poll out of Pennsylvania showed Trump leading Harris by two points.

That’s the first state-level poll since Biden dropped out of the race.

Running mates usually don’t add much as voters cast their ballot for the top of the ticket.

But given how quickly the Democrat Party is turning into the Pro-Hamas party, Harris could risk mass unrest by naming Shapiro her running mate.
