John Kennedy asked one question that left a Democrat witness a nervous wreck
John Kennedy’s folksy charm causes Democrats to underestimate him.
They quickly learn that was a huge mistake.
And John Kennedy asked one question that left a Democrat witness a nervous wreck.
John Kennedy exposes a climate change alarmist’s hypocrisy
Senate Democrats are trying to make the most of their remaining time in control of the chamber before Republicans take over next year.
The Senate Budget Committee held a hearing about the effects of climate change on homeowners insurance.
Democrats blamed climate change for an increase in the non-renewal of insurance policies.
University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business real estate and finance professor Benjamin Keys testified that high climate change risk areas were seeing an increase in policy non-renewals.
U.S. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) made the esteemed professor look like a fool during a back-and-forth.
Kennedy noted that Keys wrote an op-ed in the New York Times titled “Climate Change Should Make You Rethink Homeownership.”
He confirmed that Keys wrote the article before he cornered him.
“Pretty bold,” Kennedy said. “You own a home?”
“I do,” Keys replied. “In a flood zone.”
Kennedy cocked his head and went in for the kill.
“Have you sold it?” Kennedy asked.
Keys admitted that he was holding onto his home.
Kennedy exposed the hypocrisy of the most vocal proponents of climate change.
If they really believed that climate change was a crisis, they would act like it.
Former President Barack Obama argued that climate change was causing the oceans to rise before he left the White House and bought a $12 million oceanfront mansion in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Sacrificing for climate change is for the little people
Keys argued in his piece for the Times that more Americans should become renters and leave the areas at high risk for climate change for the wealthy.
“As insurance premiums and property taxes rise, and future home values grow more uncertain, it’s time for some prospective buyers set on living in areas with high risk of hurricanes, floods, wildfires and tornadoes to reconsider homeownership as a financial goal,” Keys wrote. “Renting is quickly becoming a better way for many people to enjoy these places with much less financial baggage.”
Kennedy saw through the game that Keys was trying to play.
“You’re a climate extremist, aren’t you, Professor?” Kennedy wondered.
Keys vigorously denied the allegation.
The colorful Louisiana Senator unearthed a Tweet that Keys liked that exposed what he thought of most Americans.
“Honestly, the biggest long-term political problem the Democrats have is that they don’t know how to talk to low-information morons,” Kennedy read from a July 2024 Tweet that Keys liked.
Keys tried to deny that he had anything to do with the Tweet in question.
“Yes, you did,” Kennedy fired back.
The professor admitted that he might have liked or retweeted it but that didn’t mean he agreed with its message.
“Oh, do you often like tweets you don’t agree with?” Kennedy asked.
Kennedy exposed him for being an out-of-touch left-wing elitist.
“You can’t make this cat walk backwards, Professor,” Kennedy said.
John Kennedy has turned dismantling Democrat witnesses into a fine art.
