John Fetterman emerged as somewhat of a truth teller towards the end of the 2024 election.

But once the results were in, Fetterman was nowhere to be found.

And John Fetterman ran and hid after suffering this humiliating defeat.

John Fetterman bails on The Daily Show

The Daily Show host Jon Stewart lined up Fetterman for a major election night interview.

Stewart likely wanted to interview Fetterman because for weeks Fetterman warned Democrats that Donald Trump was stronger in Pennsylvania than anyone thought.

“I was doing an event in Indiana County. Very, very red. And there was a superstore of Trump stuff, and it was a hundred feet long. [There were] dozens of T-shirts and hats and bumper stickers and all kinds of, I mean, it’s like, Where does this all come from? It’s the kind of thing that has taken on its own life. And it’s like something very special exists there. And that doesn’t mean that I admire it. It’s just — it’s real,” Fetterman told the New York Times in describing just how popular Trump was in rural Pennsylvania.

Trump ended up winning Pennsylvania by nearly three points so Stewart likely wanted Fetterman to explain how it was he knew Trump was strong in Pennsylvania and what lessons Democrats could learn from this election.

But in a move that showed bad manners Stewart informed his audience that 30 seconds before Fetterman was to come on the air he refused to go on the air.

“I do have something to announce very quickly,” Stewart told his audience.

“We were going to join Senator Fetterman in Pennsylvania. He is unable to join us, but because we are a professional and venerated news show, it’s not like I just have to sit here with nobody to talk to and nothing to do just because somebody said, 30 seconds before we were supposed to have him as a guest, ‘Yeah, I’m not doing that,’” Stewart added.

Fetterman likely didn’t want to go on the air because at that point in time there was nothing but bad news coming down the pike in Pennsylvania.

Not only was Trump on his way to winning the state, but Republican challenger Dave McCormick took the lead over Democrat Senator Bob Casey.

There was no good news to report in Pennsylvania and Fetterman could tell which way the trends were pointing and didn’t want to be Debbie Downer to The Daily Show’s liberal audience.

Fetterman turns into an election denier

The immediate aftermath of the election saw Fetterman do what Democrats always do which is deny the results of Republican victory.

Even though there weren’t enough outstanding ballots remaining for Casey to overcome McCormick’s lead. Fetterman twice posted on social media that Democrats should refuse to concede the race.

“The party that doesn’t like the outcome, they claim it’s voter fraud. The same party doesn’t want to count every vote, and claim a “victory” in our Senate race. That party can chill the F out because we are gonna count every last one in PA,” Fetterman wrote on X.

“Pennsylvania is going to count every last vote. That’s not controversial—that’s the law. Also, Green dips***’ votes helping elect the GOP,” Fetterman also posted.

Shortly after these posts the Associated Press called the race for McCormick.

Republicans also won every statewide race in Pennsylvania making this election a complete repudiation of the Democrat Party top to bottom.

Fetterman likely didn’t have the heart to go on TV and break that news to his base.
