John Fetterman blasts Nancy Pelosi as too old to continue in office
Democrats no longer fear or respect Nancy Pelosi.
The veneer of invincibility that surrounded Pelosi since she took over as Democrat leader in the House of Representatives back in 2022 vanished in the wake of Kamala Harris’ defeat.
Pelosi’s now vulnerable to criticism after she took the lead in forcing Joe Biden off the ticket.
Now Pelosi’s facing blowback from Biden supporters within the Democrat Party.
In the three week period between the June 27 debate and when Biden eventually forfeited the Democrat Party Presidential nomination, no one defended Biden more forcefully than Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman.
In an interview with POLITICO, Fetterman’s message to Pelosi was that she made her bed with regards to the election and now she needed to sleep in it.
“People like [Nancy] Pelosi, she really tried to — what’s the word I’m looking for? — she embraced this “she’s the godmother, she’s the enforcer.” And now she’s blaming Biden. Well, you can’t have it both ways. You got what you wanted, and now you’re still blaming Biden,” Fetterman began.
In a demonstration of just how emboldened Democrats feel to speak out against Pelosi, Fetterman even took a shot at her age noting that she was even older than Biden so if Pelosi was so worried about politicians hanging on too long she should set an example and retire.
“I think it’s really ironic that you have a woman at age 84 and she is still hanging on. Why not give a younger generation an opportunity to occupy that seat?” Fetterman added.
It’s an understatement to use any language to describe the reverence with which the press speaks about Pelosi and how they portray her as a bulletproof mafia don.
Pelosi called the play to get rid of Biden and it ended in a humiliating defeat.
Pelosi doesn’t heed the lesson
Nancy Pelosi doesn’t appear to be paying John Fetterman any mind.
Pelosi told the New York Times that her mission in life is fighting Donald Trump.
“I’m not here to talk about that,” Pelosi stated. “I’m here to fight the fight so that we win in the next election. I must have thought I had the last term over and over again, but as fate would have it, the mission called.”
Like a vampire that requires blood to survive, Pelosi craves power.
Pelosi won’t willingly walk away from power so she’s using Trump’s victory as the excuse to hang around.
And true to form, Pelosi filed paperwork to run for re-election in 2026 for a term that will end when she’s 88 years old.
