Jen Psaki declared war on Nancy Pelosi in this bitter feud
No one would have expected Nancy Pelosi and Jen Psaki to be at each other’s throats.
But Pelosi and Psaki are at the center of the latest story of Democrats in disarray.
And Jen Psaki declared war on Nancy Pelosi in this bitter feud.
Nancy Pelosi and Jen Psaki ended up on opposite sides over an inter-party squabble over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) challenging longtime Virginia Democrat Gerry Connolly for the position of ranking member on the House Oversight Committee.
Whoever won that post would become the committee chairman – and the face of the Democrat Party witch hunts into Donald Trump – if the Democrat Party retakes the majority in the House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm election.
Nancy Pelosi weighed in on Connolly’s behalf and Pelosi’s arm twisting helped Connolly emerge victorious by a 131-84 margin when the House Democrat conference voted on the position.
Jen Psaki slammed Democrats for passing on promoting the 35-year-old Ocasio-Cortez to a key leadership position.
“Instead, they chose Congressman Gerry Connolly, a much older member who was backed by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi,” Psaki stated.
Psaki said Democrats blundered by picking another one of Pelosi’s allies instead of reading the room and realizing that voters just told Democrats they wanted to turn the page on the Pelosis and Bidens of the world and their stale political fights.
“Why does that matter?” Psaki added. “This is one of the few committees in Congress that actually generates national attention or media coverage. Under Jamie Raskin, it became a critical platform for countering Republican misinformation. And while I have deep, deep respect for Speaker Pelosi… and nothing against Congressman Conolly at all, this felt like an obvious chance to apply some of the lessons we should’ve learned from the November election.”
“Instead, Democrats passed over one of the youngest, most media-savvy members of Congress for a key public leadership role,” Psaki added.
Former Democrat Congressman Dean Phillips – who challenged Joe Biden in the primary and was the only Democrat to publicly come out and say Biden was too old to run then warned that the Pelosis of the world keeping their thumb down on younger Democrats would deplete the party bench.
“It is time to elevate the best and brightest. We have literally kept them from ascending to leadership positions, which means they go elsewhere. And when we lose that kind of talent of ambitious, competent, patriotic young Americans, we’re in trouble,” Phillips stated.
Psaki’s beef with Pelosi may also have less to do with a generational argument and more with good old fashioned score settling.
Pelosi led the charge to force Joe Biden to drop his re-election campaign, following the June 27 debate that exposed him as mentally decrepit.
Jen Psaki is a Joe Biden loyalist.
Getting digs in at Pelosi over blocking Ocasio-Cortez’s bid for a committee leadership position could be one-way Bidenworld exacts its payback against Pelosi.
