Donald Trump’s selection of J.D. Vance roiled the 2024 Election.

Even the GOP establishment wasn’t happy.

And Fox News attacked J.D. Vance and Donald Trump had one shocking response.

Media goes after J.D. Vance

The media is trying to create a narrative that picking U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) over an establishment RINO like U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) or Nikki Haley as a running mate will hurt former President Donald Trump.

The last thing the media and D.C. “Swamp” want is someone who actually believes in Donald Trump’s agenda leading the Republican Party.

Left-wing activist Tim Alberta of The Atlantic posted without citing any evidence that the Trump campaign had buyer’s remorse about picking Vance.

“Most striking thing I heard from Trump allies yesterday was the second-guessing of J.D. Vance—a selection, they acknowledged, that was borne of cockiness, meant to run up margins with the base in a blowout rather than persuade swing voters in a nail-biter,” Alberta posted on X.

Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy amplified these attacks during a phone interview with Donald Trump.

“Mr. President. You know, it was just about a week ago that you selected J.D. Vance to be your running mate. Now, we know that at that point, you didn’t know that Kamala Harris was going to be your main opponent,” Doocy began.

“But now, she is. And I’m sure you’ve seen there have been a couple of stories out that say they wonder whether or not you feel you made the right pick, given the fact you didn’t realize you were going to be running against a woman, who might now try to pick a running mate to deliver a key state or a demographic or anything like that. You’re still 100% behind J.D. Vance, right?” Doocy asked.

Donald Trump responds

The GOP anger about Vance comes from “Swamp” RINOs who want to fund the war in Ukraine above all else and hate the fact that Trump picking him solidifies the GOP as the party of America First foreign policy.

Trump flatly rejected any false claims he had buyer’s remorse about picking Vance.

“He’s fantastic. Yeah. No, it wouldn’t have mattered. And I thought she was probably going to happen anyway, because I know. I knew there was a palace coup going on, and I assumed that she’d be probably getting it,” Trump told Doocy.

Trump also praised Vance’s populist conservative appeal to working-class Americans.

“She had the advantage. So, yeah, it wouldn’t matter now. He’s doing a fantastic job because, he’s essentially for the worker. He’s seen the worker be horribly abused and taken advantage of and he’s for their work. And that’s what his book is about,” Trump added.

“That’s what his that’s where his feelings about, you know, he’s for the worker. No. He’s great. He’s doing a great job. And he’s been very well received,” added the GOP nominee for president,” Trump concluded.

And it wasn’t just what Trump said.

The campaign showed it had full confidence in Vance having him attend a rally with Trump in Minnesota and headline solo rallies in swing states like Nevada.
