When Donald Trump won in 2016, he faced unprecedented opposition from the Deep State and the D.C. establishment.

He’s gearing up for a second fight.

And Donald Trump revealed this secret weapon to drain the “Swamp.”

Donald Trump’s plan to slash government spending

President Joe Biden and establishment RINOs like former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) cut backroom spending deals that exploded the national debt to $35 trillion and counting.

In a speech at the New York Economic Club, former President Donald Trump told attendees that he took growing red ink seriously.

To slash spending and shrink the size and scope of the federal bureaucracy, Trump announced he would create a government efficiency task force chaired by Tesla founder Elon Musk.

“I will create a government efficiency commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms. We need to do it,” Trump declared.

Musk previously sounded open to such an idea in an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman.

“I wish you could go into Washington for a week and be the head of the committee for making government smaller,” Fridman told Musk.

Musk revealed he discussed the possibility with Trump and that the task of bringing big government to heel appealed to him.

“I have discussed with Trump the idea of a government efficiency commission. And I would be willing to be part of that commission,” Musk replied.

After Trump made his announcement about a proposed Musk-led task force to cut spending and terminate regulations, Musk announced on X that he would accept such a position if offered.

“I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed,” Musk wrote.

Donald Trump’s other plan to shrink government

Donald Trump also declared he would rescind unspent money from the Green New Deal that Biden imposed on America in 2022.

“To further defeat inflation, my plan will terminate the Green New Deal, which I call the Green New Scam,” Trump told attendees.

“It actually sets us back, as opposed to moves us forward. And [I will] rescind all unspent funds under the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act,” Trump continued.

The Green New Deal was the Biden-Harris administration’s scheme to destroy the American energy industry by imposing climate change mandates.

This radical legislation would push America towards more costly and less efficient wind and solar power.

And this big government boondoggle also included $80 billion to hire an army of 87,000 new IRS agents to target middle-class taxpayers.

The money for new IRS agents – as well as for expensive and ineffective wind and solar power schemes – are prime areas for Donald Trump to cut spending if he wins the election in November.
